once again stevie gets passed over for the rock n roll hall of fame

I know she was inducted as a member of fleetwood mac but i'd love to see her go in for her solo carear.

Yes!

I would too! Does this happen often or are we just being greedy?

mitzo 10-04-2012 04:22 PM

Is there a way to push for this by eg. an email flood or something?

jcalzaretta 10-04-2012 07:39 PM

I really don't understand.

Jondalar 10-04-2012 07:41 PM

I don't think Heart is in the Rock N Roll hall of fame. Until they get in, not going to talk about Stevie.

kak125 10-04-2012 08:02 PM

yeah i want stevie to get in but i want heart to get in first. i am glad to see they are nominated again this year. i think this is their year with the box set and book and fanatic is really such a great rocking cd.

I think these are fixed. That how I feel about it.Its like any other hall a fame ,walk a fame or awards shows. The industry pick what they want .Not what the fans wan't.

mike_nh 10-04-2012 08:12 PM

they said on the news this morning for the first time ever the fans were going to be allowed to vote.

You are correct....Heart is not in the hall of fame and neither is Pat Benatar but Madonna is ????????.......I gave up on the whole thing when it took them years to induct Bob Segar. Oh, and the Beastie Boys are in but the Doobie Bros are still waiting........somebody, please explain THAT to me.

Again they are FIXED in some way..I dont understand why Madonna got in.She not a rock singer. She a POP singer. The same with the Beatie Boys.

These other woman like mention work their a$$es off including Stevie and get ignored from these things.

Ok I'm glad to see Heart got their star last week.Ok what does it take to get Stevie a star on the walk a fame.

I can see Taylor Swift getting nominated for it.Why not.Sorry guys.

•Speaking of Stevie Nicks, once again she's not among this year's nominee list for The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Yes, I know she's in with Fleetwood Mac, but her solo career deserves recognition. This year's nominees (of which five acts will be chosen) are Donna Summer, Joan Jett, The Meters, Public Enemy, N.W.A., Albert King, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Kraftwerk, Randy Newman, Procol Harum, Rush, the Marvellettes, Deep Purple and Chic. My five choices would be Heart, Donna Summer, Joan Jett, Kraftwerk, and the first band I ever saw in concert, Rush.

I wonder what their credentials for induction are? I don't really care that Pat Benatar, Heart, or Stevie haven't been since they haven't done anything relevant or commercially astounding in many years. But at the same time why The Meters? I had never even heard of them until I read through this thread. Their method's seem very contradictory, and I at this point am confused as to why anyone even cares who is in or out?

I never heard of The Meters.

It sucks. Her solo work should be considered. And her influence in the world of music.

Agreed. She's in with the Mac and that's all that matters to me. I guess I'm alone here in regards to the fact I really don't think she's worthy of the Hall as a solo act. She's sold what, less than 10 million solo records, has only had a handful of classic top 40 hits, and was only relevant for a short period in the 1980s (Rolling Stone even argued back then that she wasn't relevant). I obviously love her to death, but I don't think Stevie has earned a place in the Hall as a solo artist. Especially when you consider acts like Heart, who ARE worthy, haven't even gotten in yet.
