Hi Macfan :)
I have a Nikon Coolpix S2500, but I'm not satisfied with it, for various reasons. Anyway my dad has a Panasonic Lumix as our friend Olive, and in fact it's a good cam with a lot of functions. If I may suggest you also another cam, I'd choose a Canon Ixus. Almost 3 years ago I bought the model Ixus 200 IS (12.1 mpx) to my ex gf and it's totally perfect, with a lot of functions, fast touchscreen and excellent image/video quality (HD) with x5 optical zoom. We used it very much and she still use it (even as a scanner!) and it almost saved our life :D Take a look at its functions, you could find it interesting :) |
Thanks Laura and Olive.I will look into those cameras.Olive those are awesome pics on your Flickr page.

Canon
I have a Canon Power Shot SX130IS. It is by far the best camera that I've ever had. I got it a couple of years ago through Amazon & came with a case, SD card, & a few other things. It's 12 x optical zoom, so it zooms pretty good. I can fit it in my little black purse that I usually take to concerts. Last camera that I had was a little pink Pentex & the on/off button got stuck & I can't use it. I haven't gotten it fixed since I love my Canon. Before that, which I still have & it still works, is an old Nikon Coolpix 3200 with a small screen. So Nikon & Canon are good brands, JMO.
