WOMEN’S GUILD CEDARS-SINAI CELEBRATES THEIR 55TH ANNIVERSARY GALA

Special Concert Performance by Stevie Nicks

By Ana Mazdyasni
Event date: November 13, 2012

Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai will proudly celebrate its 55th Anniversary Gala on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The star-studded event will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, and a special musical performance by eight-time Grammy award-nominated artist Stevie Nicks.

Honorees include Wendy and Leonard Goldberg who will receive the first “Hollywood Icon” Award, and six Women’s Guild past presidents who will be honored with the Legacy Awards. Proceeds from the gala will help fund the Guild’s $20 million dollar pledge to the Women's Guild Lung Institute, the largest facility of its kind in the Western United States.

But guys, if she is going to do this event that means she WILL do some West Coast shows around the same time.

I wonder if she will do a full performance for the anniversary show. If she is, it might be worth the $750 just to see her in a small place. But if it's a 2 hour award presentation and a 15 minute Stevie performance -- ACK.

It's also a good tax write off.

I hope so. I'd go to this thing, but I can't afford $750.

Also, how many songs is she going to perform? It will probably be a shortened set and all the good seats will probably go to ladies in the Guild. Plus, I don't like those fund-raiser settings where you're at a table eating and then you turn your chair around when the show starts. I saw her like that at this charity that Marc Cherry put on and I had a good time, but it wasn't worth the money (unless I just wanted to support the charity).

If it were going to be a real show, in an actual music venue with concert seating and there was a chance to be up close, then $750 would be worth it.

hearing the students perform "has anyone ever written anything for you?" wasn't worth the price of the ticket? ;)
