Trouble embedding videos (iframe code)
Hi everyone,
I have a problem and it's not the first time it happens to me here on The Ledge. Two days ago I opened a post for Chris' bday and I tried to embed the video I created after uploading it on Youtube. For every video, Yt generates a code that you simply have to copy and paste into the forum. I did it before and I noticed that sometimes it works, sometimes not. This time the problem can't be resolved and instead of the embedded video, you can only see the iframe code. My laptop works perfectly, I also tried with different videos and different browsers, but I get the same error here. Some days ago I was able to post 3 videos without any trouble (http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=50406) I ask the Staff it there's a problem with that code and possibly if it could be solved, because it's more comfortable and enjoyable watching a video while remaining inside the forum. Besides, I'd like to know if it's a regular thing seeing that codes, smilies, images and html are all OFF, even if you are able to reply, open new threads, etc... This is what I get in the Forum page: http://s2.imagestime.com/out.php/i744929_rules.jpg Thanks to everyone for the help, Laura |
Wow, I wish I could help. I never post You Tube videos and I'm really unfamiliar with the process.
I don't think the Posting Rules box you screen capped is normal though. Maybe, there's some feature that you have on that is usually off by default and is getting triggered accidentally. I'll try to check it out. Michele |
Thanks for your help, Michele! :)
Honestly, I never paid attention to that little box, because I never had problems posting, modify, quoting, or inserting images in the forum. However, the problem occurs from time to time when I embed Youtube videos. Let me try again now....so we'll see if the problem persists: |
It worked!! :D
As I told you, this happens from time to time, so I'm not sure it won't happens again, maybe tomorrow. It's better if I try to modify the Chris' bday thread now, inserting the video again before I can't do it anymore :D Update:There's nothing to do: I tried to modify it, but it always shows the code instead of the video. Posting it here, at the contrary, it works: I guess it has something to do with the strange restrictions I get and that are shown in the little box. Maybe it happens only when I start a new thread, and only in the first post. |
