Does Fleetwood Mac regret of have recorded any song?
I read in a Rod Stewart boxset that he didn't like recording Love Touch (Legal Eagles soundtrack). He said We all make mistakes.
I know Madonna does not sing Material Girl anymore, kind of not wanting to go back to the Reagan era and the extreme consumerism days. I ask if Fleetwood Mac ever said Hey, we shouldn't have included that song in this album. Or Recording this song was a mistake. We should never play this song live. There is no comment like that on Mick's book, and as long as I recall, nor on Bob's book. Is there any song they considered a mistake? I hope they don't think that about any Rumours song, cause Stevie would have one more reason to complain about not including Silver Springs  . |
They've never performed I Don't Want to Know and that is from Rumours!!! That should tell you something.

Don't get on my Sugar Daddy lovers, but if Chris had to do it all over again would that be her choice? Lindsey once said that some of the songs on their albums even he raises his eyebrows at when he hears them, so I gather he probably has some Christine songs he'd axe. And who knows what he thinks of his own Mirage stuff. Michele |

If there are songs Stevie SHOULD regret recording with Mac, simply pull the two duds from side two of Tango. ......... I am a HUGE Sugar Daddy fan. I don't think Christine regrets recording it, either, since she likes to play around with the blues. Considering some of her comments in older interviews, she has said some very (accurately) negative things about her singing on the first two Mac albums featuring her full-time involvement. I'm thinking of Morning Rain and Homeward Bound--both decent songs that are sung poorly. (The first version of Morning Rain--called "Start Again"--features a way better vocal.) She also said once she didn't like the way she sang Prove Your Love, which surprises me, since I think she did a great job with it. She loves that song though. I suppose Christine's biggest regret comes from her pre-Mac experience: the Christine Perfect album. ................... Lindsey has said his Mirage stuff was "too safe." I wonder which songs he considers such. I think Empire State is an embarrassment any way you look at it, but he might not think so. If he raises an eyebrow at anything, I imagine it would be a Stevie song. He generally has a high opinion of Christine's material. |
I recall during a Tango era interview that he said he thought Mirage was "uninspired" and that really broke my heart because Gypsy is one of of my favorite Mac songs ever and Hold me and Love in Store are two faves as well. I couldn't imagine their catalog without them. One thing I really loved about Hold Me was the fact that it sort of gave both Christine and Lindsey equal time. Each Mac song is always only one singer with the others doing backup but I loved how Hold Me was both of them together. If Stevie had been more involved in it then it would have been a really nice rarity for the band. I had often wished they'd done more stuff like Don't Stop with more vocal interplay between the singers.

They should regret Paper Doll :sorry:

I think he thinks some of Chris' songs are too soft. Even though he brings a lot of estrogen (the most) himself, I think he believes Chris did. Michele |

I recall an interview in RS, right before TITN came out, where Lindsey was talking up Stevie's contributions specifically "Welcome To The Room, Sara" generally pleased with himself and the island feel to it:nod:! Sometimes I wonder what Stevie's TITN songs would be like with different arrangements. But even more interesting to me is the band passed on "Joan Of Arc" and "Juliet"!?! |
Well, I'm not sure if Fleetwood Mac or Lindsey regret of having recorded it, but there's a song that really scares me, and it's "Family man" (from TITN): every time I hear it I get goosebumps and start to look around fearing that there's an intruder in my house

But I should add that Lindsey refashioned I fall down, I get up, to we fall down, we get up, we take a drink from the Loving Cup and I always liked the switch and what it might say about being single and alone as opposed to being part of a duo or team and persevering. Plus, I liked the fact that he doesn't say "sister" in Family Man and he had no sister. So, I enjoyed thinking that the lyrics had some meaning. But I didn't really like the song. I had a long disco version of it that I used to play sometimes. Michele |
