Stevie interview Songwriter magazine

I hadn't read this before and found it really interesting.

Her comments that she won't ever do another Mac album without Christine are interesting in light of recent events.

Well, her most recent comments were that she told Lindsey she wouldn't ever record another album unless she could have as much fun as she did working with Dave Stewart.

She's suffering very much for Chris. She really loved her and she miss her terribly, but I think she must try to go on without her. It's like when the one you love leave you, and you think you can't live anymore, do the same things as before, being happy, etc. She's still young and talented, so she will be capable of do anything she wants of her career. I think this is what Chris would want from her.

She said the same thing about touring without Christine, and less than a year later: Unleashed! It's all the same, Rhiannon...

I'm surprised I hadn't read this interview before. I really like it. It's the firsrt time she's properly mentioned Rock A Little or Street Angel in a long time. I would love to know what moments on Rock A Little she looks back and thinks "wtf?" about... suggestions anyone? Perhaps, as much as I love it, Imperial Hotel?

I like how blunt she is about Street Angel. I'd rather have that than just never mentioning the album ever again. It is poor in parts (Jane, Unconditional Love) but it's great in others (Kick It).

Hi Hejira, does it means that she say a thing and then she change her mind? Uh sorry, I'm a little dumb or maybe just ignorant about Stevie.

"There have been times when I've dropped Gold Dust Woman or Dreams."

In all my years seeing Stevie, I've never seen her step on stage without performing "Dreams," and I think the Timespace tour was the only time I didn't hear "Gold Dust Woman."

She did drop Landslide for the show @ The Wiltern and then the first show of the IYD tour at Red Rocks..

Interestingly enough, I was at the Red Rocks show and afterwards I asked my group that I went with if they noticed what song she DIDN'T play and nobody could figure it out. I guess the absence of Landslide wasn't that noticeable. Anyways, I was much happier to hear "In Your Dreams" live which was only one of two (?) times she's performed that song. I'd love for her to do a smaller tour with a set list of more obscure songs for the fans.

Unleashed was the name of the FM tour in 2009

I like the part where she tells the klonopin psychiatrist to f@&$ himself, hahaha. Also, I agree that it is sad that truly great songs are being written, but will never be shared with a wide audience because confessional songwriting has been rejected for dance/club music that is repetitive and not emotionally moving in any way. What Stevie said will most likely happen eventually though- the true music and talent will prevail.

I wonder if she really said that. I thought Stevie didn't like to swear? Anyway, I hope she said it!

That reminds me of the Jim Ladd interview when she was talking about people who complain about fame. "If I could swear, I would swear right now and say really, "'___ all of you.'"

She probably tries not to swear (publicly). But remember, if you f*** with her people, she's gonna get real f****in angry, etc., etc. Also when she messed up that demo of Sleeping Angel... :o
