Problem with purchased music from iTunes

I've never had this problem before, & I was just wondering if anyone here has had this problem. I purchased an album yesterday from the iTunes store. I downloaded it to my iPod & backed it up on a CR-W Disc. I then played it on my iPod. The first song was OK, but the second song played a minute & then skipped to the next song. The next song played OK. The next song played for two seconds & then skipped to the next song. I had this problem through the whole album. I thought maybe it was the iPod, so I played it from my computer & I got the same problem. I used a gift card & complained to Apple in an e-mail. I got a reponse saying they were sorry & refunding my gift card money (& as of this a.m. I didn't see it). I got no explanation on what happened or anything. So what I am to do, no longer purchase music from Apple? So I e-mailed back saying what gives, no explanation & think the problem is on your end. So their response is they are sorry, they'll check into it & try again in a few weeks? Huh? I want to buy music from iTunes now, not in two weeks. I'm just wondering if there is a problem there & they can't figure out how to resolve it.

Has anyone here had this problem, too?

Well, I don't understand it. I just downloaded one song, a $.69 just to see if it would work OK & it did. So was it just a fluke yesterday? I'm still afraid to download a whole album.

True, but you can't play vinyl in the car which is where I listen to a lot of my music, going back & forth to work. :)

Buy music from Amazon. You can buy digital that goes straight to your iTunes...also, everything is .99 cents, none of this $1.29 nonsense on iTunes.

OK, well here's the problem right now with Amazon. I have (or so I thought) the deluxe version of Haley Reinhart's (from American Idol) album or 14 songs. Amazon is only showing 10. About half that I have are good. The half that I've heard I really like. And I want the deluxe version & the whole album! So where can I get the deluxe version other than iTunes?

Sorry to hear about that. I've never really used iTunes, but just recently got an iTunes Gift Card. How did you go about activating the card and spending it?

The Deluxe is an iTunes exclusive, so you will only get it there unless it's on CD somewhere.

I buy from both Amazon and iTunes, though iTunes is my preference since I use an iPhone and iPod and Cloud services through Apple. I only buy from Amazon (and Beatport) when they have exclusive tracks.

I've only had a problem with iTunes once, a few years back. My old PC was on it's last leg, and would randomly shut down. This happened during an album purchase, and while iTunes insisted that I had already downloaded the abum, I had in fact not downloaded anything but a portion of the first track. I submitted a ticket and they reset the download so I could do it again.

Is this the bullcrap ,Is this what the industry wants to do in the future. They can keep Icrap and amazon music.I just record off the radio like I have been doing for the last 37 years.

After you sign into iTunes, go to "Redeem" in the upper right corner. Put the numbers or letters or whatever is on the card in & hit the "redeem" button. The amount should appear up in the space by your sign-in name. Good luck! :wavey: I hope you don't have the trouble as I did this past Sunday.

It sounds like it was a fluke. If they refunded your gift card, why not try to download the album again? The worst that will happen is it won't work and you can let them know.

I have been using iTunes for years, I purchase the majority of my music from them and they have a pretty good system set up for reporting issues with the files. It's the internet, occasionally something might not work but I wouldn't swear off using them forever because of one issue. I can say that in the thousands of songs I have purchased through them, I have an issue maybe twice and it was immediately rectified.
