No book til she's "old"

'If you think you know the truth about this band, you can think again,' says Nicks, 61. 'Other than the people involved, nobody knows what really went on.
'One day, when I'm an old lady, I'm going to tell the whole tale and people will be amazed. The truth will blow your mind.
'The story is deep, dark and heavy. But it's also beautiful, sexy and more romantic than you could ever imagine. Now's not the time, though. You'll have to wait ten years for that one.'

Gee, Stevie, every year we get closer and closer to that promised book.

When they finally come to bury us, maybe then we'll tell the truth.

How does Stevie know that in 10 years she'll still be mentally sound enough to write a book?

Oh this woman...

"I want to write a book, and I want to do my paintings and get them out to the world. And that's what I'll do in another 10 years when I decide to really stop what I'm doing right now."
-Stevie Nicks, July 14, 1991

APerfectLie 06-01-2012 03:44 AM

And again...

"One day when I'm 60 or so and too old to rock a little I will write the whole story."

Jondalar 06-01-2012 04:24 AM

When she gets around to writing that book, no one will care.

I was just thinking about something this morning so it's funny that I find this thread today... I wish I could remember where it is but I heard an interview with Stevie, or perhaps it's one of those things where she's talking to someone and a tape recorder is on or she's in the studio with the tape running, and it's around the time of Tusk or Belladonna and she says something like "well, I'm 27 now, so I have to get all this stuff done. Can you imagine me being in my 60's doing rock and roll?"

And please don't get on me about the facts or the quote, my memory sucks. If you know what this is, please post the correct quote and/or info. I wish I could remember where it was from.

And while I was writing this it made me think about all these precious ramblings we have of Stevie in the studio. I mean, studio time and those big reels of audio tape were not cheap. Imagine how much money was spent with Stevie at 3 in the morning recording Julia talking about how she makes great spaghetti and not being able to get past "that damn note!!!" LOL.

She'll never write an autobiography. I doubt she'll ever write a book of any kind. I think there's a lot she would like to do, but she'll never get around to doing any of it. She can barely get it together enough to record albums and tour. Maybe if she stops that stuff we'll get a book, but I don't want a book that bad. Okay, I do, but I don't want her to stop making music to do it!
