Christine collaborations?

should we do a poll of Lindsey's collaborations with Christine?

if yes, what songs should be included -

- songs co-written by LB and CM:
  • Isn't It Midnight (C. McVie, Buckingham)
  • Mystified (C. McVie, Buckingham)
  • World Turning (Buckingham, C. McVie)
  • You And I, Part I (Buckingham, C. McVie)
  • You And I, Part II (Buckingham, C. McVie)
- Christine's songs that have Lindsey singing major parts of the song:
  • Don't Stop
  • Hold Me
  • Think About Me
- any others that i'm forgetting?

It wasn't on an album but "Ricky" was written by LB and CM.

Co-writes.

co-writes only? sounds good.

or possibly co-writes in a separate poll from LB singing major parts on Christine's songs? nah... just co-writes, probably.

How about running a poll with songs that feature Lindsey but aren't neccessarily Lindsey songs like Don't Stop, Hold Me. Also he does carry the lead vocal on Crystal. I'm assuming he has other solo/collab's with other's that he was featured on?

good idea! completely forgot about his non-mac collaborations. and i was so not happy about Crystal winning in your poll over all those much better songs that it completely slipped my mind that it would fit in the category of LB singing major part of a song not written by him.

so yeah, at some point we can consider his collaborations where he sang major parts - with not just Christine, but also Twisted (or all BN era i guess, but i'm not big on that - maybe CAD can make that poll if she's interested?), and all what 6? or 7? songs he did with Little Big Town, and all the songs he did with John Stewart (definitely Spinnin' of the World!:xoxo:).i don't know about that GYOW he did with Carrie Underwood b/c that's just another live version of his song... so probably his songs with LBT wouldn't count either, just him singing on their songs.

Crystal winning non-hit from the '75 album is kinda strange. Look at it this way though, those final 3 songs all feature Lindsey quite strongly. :)

Just my opinion, but I'd keep live performances out of this, esp performances of previously album-issued songs...or run another poll of his live songs.

yeah, i'm thinking the same.

although when i put a song like ISA or GYOW for a vote, i consider all versions of that song, not a specific album or live version. it's about the song and not a specific version for me, at least in most cases.

Which poll was that? I LOVE Lindsey singing Crystal. I can't even listen to Stevie singing it. Keith Olsen or Ken Callait, whoever made the call on that re. Lindsey's voice being better suited for the song, made the right decision .

MSB ran the poll on Rumours forum.

this was BN era song, so would be neither Olsen or Caillat. and i have to say that i actually like stevie's version of crystal better than either of lindsey's. :sorry:

One of them was interviewed and said they thought the timbre of Lindsey's voice was better suited to the song. Help me CAD or Michele..., are you there? I know you guys know the interview I'm speking of.

I still can't listen to Stevie's version, Elle. I'm surprised that you can :p

i know, what a surprise ha? i'm shocked too

when i first heard Crystal i was pleasantly surprised and thought it was a nice gentle song. but on a repeated listen i just couldn't stand the repetitiveness of the words. they sound like a little kid was trying to figure out all different and supposedly more sophisticated ways to say the same thing - and not quite succeeding . in SN's version at least the words are more mumbled so you don't get distracted by the stupidity and can just hear the melody.

ah. so they must have been making a decision whether to keep Crystal as more of a BN version or make it a completely SN song during making of the white album i guess.

MacShadowsBall 02-18-2012 03:47 PM

Keith Olsen did both the '73 Buckingham Nicks and '75 FM album. Calliat became involved for the Rumours album.

I don't really know why Lindsey sang Crystal and not Stevie. Stevie's presence on '75 FM is quite limited to just Landslide and Rhiannon with Lindsey's lead vocal on Crystal.

Stevie wasn't wanted by Mick/John/Christine, but Lindsey was. So I imagine that influenced the decision making process.

EDIT: This is the most I've every posted on this forum!!!
