Whitney - Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You

I'm sure there are tons of Whitney projects in the works now.

Do you think there is any chance of us ever hearing her version of our Stevie song? Unfortunatly it was a list minute cut from her I Look to You CD, they had played it at listening parties and it got good reviews. I don't think it's ever shown up anywhere.

Who do I have to write to?

That's a big surprise! I could never conceive that Whitney would consider covering a Stevie song. I hope it shows up; it would be very interesting to hear.

I think it would be a very appropriate song to release now. Stevie wrote the definitive Whitney theme.

You might want to try Santa Claus.

Maybe a hardcore Whitney fan who has an acetate of I Look To You might have it?

Derek Sheldon (DS): Ok, first question you have heard the new CD by Whitney how much did you hear and how many tracks were there?

Sholoongo Sweet(SS):I heard about 17 songs on the version of the CD that I heard in May. I did not see "song titles" or "credits." The number 1 song is written by Stevie Nicks called "Has Anybody Ever Written Anything For You" ---ballad cover, but my date said it may not make the CD. (For the record I love this song made famous by Stevie Nicks-DS)

This thread at a Whitney Houston forum is an interesting read:

http://classicwhitney.yuku.com/topic...ausible?page=1

It's an old thread from 2009 in which they are speculating about the rumored tracklist for Whitney's upcoming album, which included HAEWAFY (supposedly). People who have never heard this song before (or probably Stevie, for that matter) were raving about it over and over.

If Sony is smart and releases the song as a single, perhaps this will be Stevie's own version of "I Will Always Love You?" I am dying to hear Whitney's version. I should hope Stevie's manager is on the case!

I love to Whitneys version of Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You .

PolishStevieFan 02-18-2012 06:22 AM

I hope it will be released very soon to the public. "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and making it a single now would be very profitable for Stevie indeed.

Maybe there are some Whitney fanatics...like we are with Stevie...who own every demo or shred of song they can get from the underground. I'm sure one of them would have it!

I agree this would be a very timely and fitting song for Whitney to release . Emails to Clive Davis or Whitney's record company should be sent

I have posed this question on twitter several times and no response

--tonight I'm going to bury that horse in the ground

I'm not really a big Whitney fan, or even HAEWAFY, but I could easily hear her doing the song justice.

I'm sure she sounds great on it. I think it was David Foster's idea, but I sure could see Whitney listening to this during her darkest hours... I mean she struggled.

Whitney did a beautiful cover of Dolly Partons "I Will Always Love You"Which Dolly top the country charts in 1974.Whitney made it number 1 in 1992.I would love to see Whitneys version of Stevie's HAEWAFY come up to be a hit. Also Stevie record Dolly's
"I Will Always Love You" and make a killing with it on the country charts.I do remember Stevie memtioning that she is a big fan of Dolly.
