Buckingham / Dashut co-written songs
solo:
Street Of Dreams (Buckingham, Dashut) Surrender The Rain / Spoken Introduction (Buckingham, Dashut) This Is The Time (Buckingham, Dashut) Turn It On (Buckingham, Dashut) Wrong (Buckingham, Richard Dashut) You Do Or You Don't (Buckingham, Dashut) mac: Book Of Love (Buckingham, Richard Dashut) Empire State (Buckingham, Richard Dashut) Family Man (Buckingham, Richard Dashut) Oh Diane (Buckingham, Richard Dashut) i'm torn between Turn It On and You Do Or You Don't, although their other OOTC co-writes are pretty great too. i have no love for their mac co-writes. |
I really need to understand this co-write relationship. How did they go from such basic material to utter flawlessness?
And how can anyone select amongst all that flaw-free OOTC stuff? I chose "You Do Or You Don't" for nostalgic purposes...and because it's incredible. |
Out of those I chose Street of Dreams. I've loved that one Since day 1.....pure perfection..

Could Lindsey even sing that live now? |
I wanted to vote for Oh Diane and Surrender The Rain - so I had to flip a coin.
Oh Diane won! :D |
wow, can't believe all Mirage songs got some votes, but This Is The Time which is pretty great is still at zero?!
|
Voted for Street Of Dreams. Amazing song.
Runner up votes to: Turn It On, YDOYD, Wrong. |
I'm having a really hard time choosing....

Never really liked that one. It was the one song that stopped me from putting OOTC in the albums where you love every song thread. The way Lindsey sings on that makes me want to punch him in the face.........A little TOO erotic......ghaaaa. Mick |
I went with Surrender the Rain because that was my favorite song the first time I heard OOTC and I have continued to love it since. I feel like it's one of the more underrated songs on that album because of how strong the rest are, but it really is gorgeous!
|
Because it touches me on a personal level, I chose "Street of Dreams".
I also really love This is the Time and Surrender the Rain. As favorite pop songs, Lindsey excels with You Do Or You Don't and Book Of Love. |
ooohh, tough one!
I went for Book Of Love, because it's an underrated gem in my opinion. But also Street Of Dreams, Empire State, and -in a very competative way- Turn It On could have been my pick.... |
Turn It On live from last fall:
|
You Do Or You Don't live from 1992 (Lindsey first ever solo tour):
