Stevie Nicks to perform live at LA AIDS Walk on 5/20/12

Hello everyone,

I've just learned that Stevie will be performing as part of the California Music Festival AIDS Walk on Sunday, May 20th, 2012 at the Greek Theater in LA. Apparently, Cher and Stevie Wonder will also be on the bill.

That's all the info I have for now. I don't think there has been a press release yet.

More to come:

^^^ OMG!! Thanks for posting. It sounds like a brilliant event for a brilliant cause. And all we need is Stevie Winwood, and it's like the holy trinity of Stevie's will be there! I am so there. However, I just noticed the following on their website:

Quote:

By registering, I realize that every dollar I raise for the California Music Festival & AIDS Walk will provide critical HIV/AIDS services to those in need. I therefore commit to raise as much as I can by May 20, 2012. I can make this commitment come true through self-sponsorship, be sponsored by others, or a combination of both. Our capacity at the Food & Music Festival in Griffith Park and the concert at the Greek Theatre is just 5,000 folks. The top earning 5,000 people will receive tickets to both. Those who raise the most money will receive the best seats! Our media partner this year is KRTH-K-EARTH 101 radio who in 2012 is celebrating their 40th anniversary on the air. Once they begin to promote this event on the radio, it is sure to sell out! So right NOW is the time to raise money to insure your reservation!
I think there is a way for teams of people to register together to raise money. I'm down for that. I'm probably just going to sponsor myself out of my own pocket anyway.

Don't get too excited yet guys, this is far from definite. Not to discredit you Garbo, I just know it's not that straight forward.

Not to jump the gun here, but I wonder if Stevie intends to perform "Touched by an Angel"? Being that the song was written about AIDS and it was supposedly her mother's favorite? Just a guess.

There's not much to say really. I asked one of the few people who would absolutely have to know about this if it was true and that person hadn't heard anything. It could still be happening, but as I said, if this person didn't know anything, it's not 100%.
