Descreening options
 

Need help, I know very little about scanning/photo editing so bear with me. :)

My tower crashed and I got a new one but the HP software for my print/scan/copy machine won't load on Windows 7 (don't know why, I heard W7 will take everything but the message says op sys not compatible and won't let me go any futher with installation of it & it's only a couple years old, I know, a couple of years in this stuff is big but it's not from the 70s or anything).

I was still able to hook it up and scan/print/copy from it but I used to descreen jpegs I'd scan through the HP software and I can't find a screening option on anything else I have.

So between Photoshop Elements 7, ReadIris Pro 11, Windows Photo Gallery & Viewer, Movie Maker, Media Center & Paint, does anyone know if any of these will descreen a jpeg scan (I think the only one of these I can use to scan is ReadIris but I tried this and Windows Fax & Scan but to no avail) maybe under a different phrase or something (I've looked through the menus of each but can't find anything remotely close but hopefully someone here can say "it's staring (me) in the face under (this name)".

If not, can someone recommend reliable but cheap software that will definitely do this that I can get?
