Absolutely sick.

More people need to boycott goods made in China and make it clear that this cruel and evil act will not be tolerated. If you feel strongly about this then please sign the petitions below:

China have no laws against the mistreatment of animals and using methods above for business and financial gain. Boycotting the goods is a way in which we can help curb this awful act and show them that it will not be tolerated. Products made from animal fur in countries such as China need to be banned from entering and being sold within other countries around the world. They won't make what they can't ship and sell abroad. Acts above are carried out in order to get fur for cheap items that are routinely sold in stores and on websites such as eBay.

It takes literally seconds to sign up. Every signature counts. Post links to Facebook and Twitter.

I agree with the notion of trying to buy everything you wear and consume locally; however, the vast majority of goods sold in the U.S. is made in China. To boycott goods made in China, you would probably have to give up your iPhone, flat screen televisions, computers and probably 85% of your clothes. I feel good when I happen to see a tag in my closet that says "Made in USA," which was actually quite common 30 years ago. Look for the union label, right?

That being said, I am not sure why you are singling out China over their methods of harvesting animals for fur. Isn't it all decidedly barbaric, regardless of where it is conducted? Is there a such thing as humane fur? Shouldn't we all, as an evolved society, try to move away from relying on animals for food and clothing?

This is apalling indeed. It happens to cats, as well.

I look at the labels of almost everything I buy, be it clothing, office supplies or food. It's really quite incredible how much of the stuff we use in our jobs and homes is made in China, and it's pretty much impossible to avoid it completely.

A better option than a petition, which will not really go anywhere, is to call, e-mail and write your congressmen and women and demand that they support or introduce legislation banning the importation of products manufactured with cruelty - and to support tax incentives to bring manufacturing jobs back to America - however, Americans also must be willing to pay realistic prices for these goods, which will never be as cheap as their Chinese counterparts.

It's hard to always buy American, but many other countries have standards similar to ours, or in the case of many European or South American goods, the standards are even higher. A little research will go a long way towards making cruelty free choices when we shop.

But as HejiraNYC said, we all need to be prepared to examine other areas of our lives and make sacrifices. As cruel as it is to skin a living cat or dog to make toys and clothing, it is no less cruel to herd pigs screaming in fear into a metal room where they are smashed with a weighted vice to render them unconscience (not dead) and are then sliced up by machines and turned into bacon, footballs and shoes - and chew toys for dogs. And this probably happens within a couple hundred miles of where any of us live.

Anybody capable of punishing an animal in any way deserves to be punished in exactly the same way, in my opinion. They're not human beings. They're unworthy scum. Why should we show them any leniency whatsoever when they show non to the animals they torture for their own sick pleasure? I don't eat meat or use animal products because I know the cruelty that's gone into their creation and collection.

I signed the petition's and re-tweeted it, I really hope this stops, it's despicable and horrifying. Makes me sick to my stomach that this happens in today's society.
Thanks for raising awareness.

We should, but it probably won't happen for a long time. For my part, I love chicken and fish too much. ;)

Prime example of where comfort meets ugly I guess. I can't stand those boots.

I like meat too. We're not rabbits and lettuce and greens don't cut it for a lot of people. But I do love a good salad.

I'm a vegetarian and lettuce and greens don't cut it for me, either. A meat-free diet can be very filling and substantial. It just depends on your cooking ability and creativity.....like baked mac and cheese with broccoli and asparagus, eggplant parmesan, pretty much any Indian food, lasagna.

Bah, I won't turn this into a meat versus non-meat debate, but really, not eating meat doesn't mean eating salads all the time. I can't even recall the last time I had a salad that wasn't potato salad.
