That's so cool! I'm jealous.

Really nice!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the set-up cost - from the touch screen to the speakers and cords? And what equiptment you used as well. I have been interested in doing something similar in my new house. PM me if necessary. Thanks, much appreciated!!

hey,
Heres what you need, (the bigger the better)
1 computer, 1 touchscreen monitor (mines an acer 32"), Set of good 2.1 or 5.1 Speakers for PC. Mine are very good Creative Labs 5.1THX.
You can put it in whatever type of cabinet you like, i just used a two shelf box cabinet and stuck a bit of red perspex in front of some lights.
Total cost so far is about £1100

Then you need to purchase jukebox interface software for you PC. I highly reccommend Etouch Freebox (just google it) great foum and support. Cost $45 ish

Then you need your music library and you need to tag and rename all the songs so all the details are correct, and everything has to be in the correct files and folders (Artist\Album\Song) Takes forever if your music library is untidy.

After that you may download all your album art and fan art pictures and put them into the database to display when your artist is playing.

You will never have a cd lying around again and all your music is instantly accesible.

Its is the center peice of all my partys.

Oh my god. That's incredible. I'm going to save up my money and do it.

Great stuff! So do you just hook up your laptop when you use it or do you recommend dedicating an entire (cheap) computer for its use? I guess it really doesnt matter...

http://www.freeboxjukebox.com/ is this the one?

Either works, but if you want a good system I would reccommend a dedicated pc that is only connected to internet for updates and patches. I wouldnt want viruses worms and trojans and all that spyware ware slowing my jukebox dowm.

Windows 7 works best with touchscreen monitors.

I reccommend becomming a lifetime member and then you will get all the updates and new versions and fancy skins for no additional charge.
its around $40-$45 or something i think.

That is awesome - thanks for sharing. A lot of bars these days have touch screen jukeboxes, and I've always wondered how easy it would be to set one up at home.
