The way love goes - appreciation thread

Definately one of my Favourite songs on the new album.

"Thats the way love goes, it goes, it goes, it goes."

I love the way he is telling us that it goes as in it goes away. very smart play with words.

He says "it goes" 3 times in a row, I wonder has this any similar link to "been down one time, been down 2 times, Been down 3 times. (if you get my meaning).

First few times i listened to it, I thought it was "It goes" as in it goes well.

Reminds me of how I though Looking out for Love meant he was looking for love, when in actual fact he was Looking "OUT" for love, as in trying to avoid it.

Genius.

Having not heard the album, I can't say if it is one of the best.

The pumping energy of the clip is addictive. I hope the dynamics of the track are better produced than on for instance Love Runs Deeper. I can't really tell on this clip. So I hold my vote for a week. It's definitive a feelgood stomper!

This song sounds nice. Makes me excited to hear the album.

wow, that's one deep explanation! who knows, might really be true...

this song is the one that grabbed me from the first listen in Saban, and among the live songs from SWS is still my favorite, although IOOT strongly competes with it. i can't really tell about the album versions, i think i'll like IOOT better then TWLG on the album b/c TWLG seems slightly less rocking and more pop in the clips we've heard... but i'm really happy that we'll have both SWS and Small Machine DVD versions since it seems they will be very different and both worth having!:blob2:

and i have to say it again - i really severely dislike that his voice is so highly compressed on so many songs on SWS album versions.:distress: [doesn't seem compressed on illumination though, and i think that one might be even better than the live version]

Compression just seems to be a part of modern music. Though do you mean pitch shifted rather than compressed? I think they're all sped up about a semitone on a lot of the tracks. I actually made a version of the title track that's slowed down by ~6% and it sounds very much like the live version.

i have no idea what i'm talking about Peestie re compression, speeding up etc in music recording:shrug:. i used to characterize it as sped up b/c his voice sounds exactly like that's what he did, but the whole song TWLG actually seems slowed down from the live version, just his voice sounds sped up. so i'm not sure what he did and how to characterize it?!

You're right that the song sounds slower and I actually think that this is the only one that sounds better than the live rendition. Live it was too fast, furious and loud. More noise than sound. This clip lets me enjoy the melody. The sped up voice . . . he has frustrated me so much with this. The album hasn't even come out and I'd like to shake him.

Sounds like he's saying, "I saw your secret" now.

I love this song for that lyric alone. Very nice play on words. Clever, Lindsey.

And what you brought up with NGBA is very interesting. I forgot about the addition with the 'been down 3 times..' to be honest.

Can you verify the length of this song? On the UK amazon site it says its 4 minutes, but on the US amazon page it says that its over 6 minutes?
