The best way to capture memories....

I will be seeing Stevie, for the first time ever, in Indy on the 17th.

I have enjoyed so many pics and videos from all you Ledgies over the time I've been a member of this board.

I was wondering, the best way to get my own. I have a small video camera, and a pretty good cell phone. Which is the best method?

Will I get these things taken away if anyone notices?

Do Stevie's people care if we bring these devices into the shows?

I would appreciate any advice....

Red Rocks allowed "small cameras." Don't know if it's up to the venue or the artist. Someone else can chime in on that.

The default text on most all concert tickets says "no cameras or recording equipment." But it really is up to the artists and venues. Also, whether or not the venue actually honors the request of the artist, how strict they are about enforcing any rules, including their own, etc. My point being, it can vary greatly. Most venues allow "small cameras," meaning a basic point and shoot - nothing professional with detachable lenses, and definitely no video cameras, though some people do get away with it. I think most of the concert videos on youtube were taken with the video feature on a point and shoot camera. Sometimes flashes are allowed to be used, other times not. You won't get decent pictures or video with a cell phone unless you're very close. Even then, they will probably still be over-exposed, blurred, grainy, and the audio quality will suck.

If the venue is very strict about no cameras, and they find it when you enter, they will tell you it is not allowed, and you can take it back to your car. However, this has never happened to me. :p I bring my camera everywhere. If I'm ever not sure, I wait until other people start taking pictures and see how security reacts. But this can also vary, there can be cool security people in one section, and what we love to call "camera nazis" in another.

I don't believe Stevie's people care, since there doesn't appear to be a strict "no camera" rule.

That concert rider has been around for awhile - TISL tour or older...they still refer to "film," instead of memory cards.

Try and get pictures if you can but don't take too many or you'll be focused on that and miss out on the x-perience... meet up with a Ledgie you like... make it memorable!
