Stevie said Amy obviously did not have good people around her, but that Stevie did have good people. Huh? How so? I don't think even the most loving, supporting people can get you off of drugs unless you want to get off of them. So, I don't blame those around Stevie for anything.

But when she suggests that her people were more protective than Amy's were, I can't agree, since she was on Klonopin for 7 years and always says that she herself decided to get off of cocaine before that, because she knew she would be dead if she didn't. She never says that her people got her off of it through their persistence and determination to see her clean.

I don't agree with her saying that her people were better than Amy's, either. Amy's parents seem like lovely people and it's very clear that they tried hard to help her get better. However, like Stevie has said so many times before, the drug addict themselves has to make the choice to get better.

I don't see how it makes sense to say that Stevie's people were more protective of her..If I recall correctly, she HAS said in the past that the people around her forced her to go to Betty Ford... but nowadays she seems to be saying that she woke up one morning and knew she needed to go.

I think maybe what she meant was that when she decided to get off of cocaine no one tried to pressure her to do it again. Maybe that's what she was referring to. The interview consisted of mainly little snippets so it's possible that I could've misunderstood her but I think that's what she was talking about:shrug:

Also the comment about the gnats going up her windpipe cracked me up:lol:

And she also seems to really be mentioning how she does not appreciate famous people complaining about their lives. She mentioned it last night and again in this interview and I have to say I completely agree with her. Nothing annoys me more than someone saying "Im famous, my life sucks"

Ok rant over :wavey:

The difference between Stevie and Amy:

Stevie had a lot of long-time supportive friends, band mates, and family around her. She was never alone, and, in general terms, has a relatively stable mind.

Amy was living by herself. I suspect that she didn't have a large network of close friends that she saw on a day-to-day basis. Her constitution/mind set was very fragile, and she was a heavy drinker/drug user right out of her teens.

Yes,totally. And also the fact that Amy was really groomed for ''stardom'' from a young age by the (vile) Sylvia Young school. And success coming early for her was her real downfall.
Stevie was 27 when she ''made it''..plenty of time to deal with the lows ,struggles and everything else before the highs come along and sweep you up into a crazy whirlwind of fame, money, drugs etc. ..causing even more struggles!

Front and center!

FYI, I was at the Heart/Def Leppard show last week. I guess the inside seats didn't sell well because they had stations on the lawn and were upgrading people to pavillion seats for $10.00 each. You may want to check on this when you get there. You might be able to get closer.
