Just posted on MSN. So sad to hear. I pray it wasn't from drugs.

I can almost assure you it was. She was definitely a very tortured addict. I don't think the media singling her out helped her cause either. I think this is such an unfortunate tragedy... both her albums were really fantastic. I was really hoping for more music from her. :distress:

Agreed--I can't imagine it was unrelated to her drug use. Needless to say, "Rehab" will be unlistenable for some time.
What a horrible waste. She really had a talent. RIP.

It had to have been. She just became the newest member of the 27 Club. This is so incredibly sad. I'm a huge fan. I could cry right now.

Some of my personal Amy favorites:

And my all time fave directed by David LaChapelle:

Very sad, but not suprising at all, especially not after those recent concert clips on YouTube... R.I.P

Her last ever tweet read:

''oinka oikna oinka why you awake ''
that was about 14hours ago.

So sad.
The business killed her..same with Michael Jackson..money being placed before people

TrueFaith77 07-23-2011 12:59 PM

I agree Bryan. Here's what I tweeted on the sad news:

Innocuous poseurs like Adele and Duffy made Amy Winehouse expendable--but SHE was the artist, and her exploited humanity sang for our own.

RIP, Amy. I hope the Mac cuts a Hawaiian-infused album in honor of your now-lost potential.

damn you shocked me with taht news.
That is so sad. She has so much talent and it is so sad and tragic that she wasted it killing herself with all that drugs and lost her life that early...
:distress: poor girl....

Amy Winehouse Dead at Age 29

27, I'm sorry...

Wow, I feel so grateful that Stevie has made it so many decades past 27, and for all her amazing music...

Your tweet is so very true. They duplicated her because she wasn't well enough to capitalise on anymore..and when they tried to all over again..they killed her.
With live in Belgrade the writing was truly on the wall.Booking a European ''comeback'' tour without a record to support?! I wish the whole business to come crashing down it's disgusting

I disagree with this. Her addictions have only been a hindrance to her earning potential since Back to Black, so I'm sure her management would have loved to get her sober. Her disease was her own, and addiction killed her--not the business.

It's horribly sad that she couldn't shake off her demons, but I tend to believe that an addict's choices aren't the responsibility of anyone else. Controversial topic, of course; mileage will vary.

Ugh! This news makes me ill. Such a tragic waste & so sad Amy couldn't pull herself together.

Nico 07-23-2011 02:17 PM

Such a tragedy. :distress: I'm very upset. I was a fan of hers from the very beginning, but her troubles were massive and great in number. Oh that voice...
