Unconditional Love, and Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind.

Unconditional Love & Street Angel (I've warmed to this song over the years but ultimately have never really connected to it, or totally understood the whole homeless love/lost theme)

"Street angels live on the street...and they always will":o

5 least favorites; I'll be glad to see any of these go:

Greta
Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind
Listen to the Rain
Street Angel
Unconditional Love

There are other versions of a couple of these that are okay, but the album tracks make me :( .

:D My favorite track on the album, along with "Kick It" and "Blue Denim". (though I do hate the version that's on the boxed set)

Of the SA songs on Enchanted:

Blue Denim: prefer album version
Street Angel: prefer Enchanted version
Destiny: prefer album version
Rose Garden: dunno

The electric guitar ruins the album version of Street Angel, IMO.

Street Angel has worked it's way to the top of this album for me. It started only recently, but I love the instrumentation, and Stevie's vocal is top notch.

For me on a personal level, the song seems to be less about an affair with someone who is suffering from homelessness, and more about an emotional connection with someone who chooses to not have a home...like a gypsy. Those people who are always on the go; they come into your life - make a profound impact - and then disappear with little or no explanation, leaving you to wonder why and what might have been. Like that woman, Caroline, that Johnette Napolitano so mournfully sings about on Bloodletting.

The best part? The story comes full circle in Street Angel, with Stevie playing the part as well. "But you never knew, you just thought I went away..."

Ditto. I'm not fan of Stevie doing this sort of Adult Contemporary dribble. :p

i just don't like this version of LTTR.... croak'n up the window.... ribbit...and listen to the rain.. the 91' version was just so much better in my opinion...

markolas 07-04-2011 07:49 PM

LTTR is far from Stevie's best song, and the vocal on the SA version might be her worst one ever.

I again went with "Rose Garden" and now "Destiny". I always skip them.
