Thrown Down (Single Mix)

This version is incredible!

I love the original, it's my second favorite song on SYW, but I may love the single mix a little more now. I love the music and the slight changes in the vocal and that it feels more raw then the studio version.

I think Lindsey's voice really stands out in this version, especially towards the end. He's really belting it out  I do miss the "you've shaken your faith in me..." verse but the "there's nothing left to say...you should walk away..." lyrics in the background near the end make up for that! It sounds so beautiful.

You can download it on buckinghamnicks.net if anyone doesn't have it yet.

What does everyone else think of it?

Also, I downloaded The Tower (aka Goodbye Baby) and it's amazing too. Much better than what ended up on SWY. Stevie has a really strange vocal on the studio version. I never thought I would really listen to that song but I will definitely be listening to The Tower version, it's a new favorite.

You must be talking about the "wall of sound" version of Thrown Down, which is not a single mix at all (that's something which has been mistakingly repeated for nearly a decade now... drives me crazy!). It's also believed not even to be a Fleetwood Mac cut, but instead the song Sheryl Crow produced for Stevie's Trouble In Shangri La album (with Lindsey on backing vocals/guitars) which was held for later use in Fleetwood Mac. Sheryl and Stevie both spoke of a song which included Lindsey which was later withheld for Fleetwood Mac. Many of us on the Ledge have speculated over the years that it was indeed Thrown Down.

Edit: Is this the version you were speaking of?

Yep, that's it. Whoops! Sorry I got the name wrong! I didn't understand why it was titled "single mix" but that's what it is titled on the site. Thanks for letting me know the story behind it...interesting! Regardless of "what" it really is, I love it!

Yep. The One With The Soap Opera Party. Season 9. It plays during a rooftop party scene. I noticed it straight away when it played!
