One Take?

[Do you think this is a song we haven't heard before or do you think it's just a mistake using the wrong song title? Awww. I am starting to feel warm and excited just reading two new song titles. Lindsey :xoxo:]

Legendary guitarist, singer/songwriter, Grammy winner, producer and Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame member (with Fleetwood Mac) Lindsey Buckingham will release his sixth solo album, "Seeds We Sow," on September 6, and on Sept. 13 he will headline The Depot.

From a press release: This album is Buckingham’s first self-release, in which he took a true DIY approach, not only writing and performing every song on the record but producing and mixing them as well. Buckingham also announced a 31-city North American tour in support of the album which kicks off on September 9th in Nevada and continues through October 25th in Napa, CA (full routing below). Tickets go on sale in select cities beginning June 16, check your local venue for ticket purchase and on-sale info.

Speaking on Seeds We Sow, Buckingham says, “This might be the best work I've ever done. I think it's an excellent representation of what I do. It shows a certain maturity and musicianship and I just feel like I have a lot of tools in my musical vocabulary from which to draw that are again the product of the choices I’ve made. It’s on my own terms. This is very much from the inside out and I hope I never stop doing that.”

From the album’s first single “In Our Own Time,” to the soft melodic pop/rock tinge of “End Of Time” and the album’s most rocking track, “One Take,” to the touching “When She Comes Down” and the almost lullaby-esque hushed tones of the gorgeous closing number, “She Smiles Sweetly,” the album showcases Buckingham’s full arsenal of skills. Just as his guitar style on Seeds We Sow is more mature and refined, so too are his lyrics, with one of the standout tracks being the hook-laden “Illumination.” “I think the lyrics over the years have actually gotten better because they’ve gotten a little, I don’t want to say obscure, but more poetic in the way they’re created,” he says, adding, “It’s a mysterious process even to me.”

Yeah, the lyrics have gotten more poetic because you sit around reading poetry books, fellow. You are looking for the obscure references. Gift of Screws my foot. That didn't just happen spontaneously.

I wonder if Lindsey will offer an album preorder or pre relsease of a single? I am 'weeping on the ground' for this album -- I've a big NEED for this sooner rather than later -- three more months seems forever.

yeah i read that and thought - there is something more rocking than illumination or the way love goes? and now i'm thinking could some of the lyrics in the way love goes that we couldn't decipher say "one take"? since they didn't mention the way love goes, or stars for that matter... or is it another rocking song?!

It looks like another ROCKING song.... since the tracklist shows the other two...

1) Seeds We Sow
2) In Our Own Time
3) Illumination
4) That’s The Way Love Goes
5) Stars Are Crazy
6) When She Comes Down
7) Rock Away Blind
8) One Take
9) Gone Too Far
10) End Of Time
11) She Smiled Sweetly

Rock Away Blind doesn't sound like a lullaby either....

Oh, f***. Even THAT is getting cliche' with him. Same thing he's said about EVERY F-ing album he releases. What a bunch of crap.

Ok, Lindsey, back it up by playing a majority of those songs on FUTURE solo tours, WITH Fleetwood Mac, etc. If it's your "best work", PROVE IT!! Otherwise, you might as well take Ex-Lax, cuz you're full of s**t!!

There's nothing wrong with that.

what happened to you today? did you actually listen to any of the new songs? b/c all new songs we had the opportunity to hear are great - so it's kinda already proven:shrug:, even if he says the same thing every time (guess that's just regular self-advertising - what is he going to say "ah well i've done better before but buy this one anyway"?).

EDIT: not sure i understand these demands for his solo songs on mac tour? isn't it so much nicer to go see much cheaper LB tour in nice intimate venues and hear all these great new songs? you did hear he's touring this fall?

although yeah, he played hardly anything from GOS in LA this April. hope he remedies that in the fall.

At least he didn't call it his "Rumours" album. ;)

I wonder what he considers his Tusk album. Oh yeah, Tusk basically is his album.

Prove it? He's releasing an album to do just that. All artists say that. Should they say something like, "eh, I could have done better but just wanted to throw something out there. This is nowhere near any of my best work."? It's his opinion, which he is entitled to... just like we as fans can form for ourselves. I'm sure ours will be across the board from the worst all the way to his best. All in the eye of the beholder.
