I missed something- what exactly is this about? :)

Dave Stewart tweeted Dani that we needed to start some kind of IYD tour campaign, otherwise we are going to end up with "another Rod." So people have been tweeting their wishes for a tour, and Dani took it upon herself to make a video that is successfully making its rounds in the twitter world.
Mimi and I liked the idea so we made videos as well.

This is the prime opportunity to embarrass myself:

I think anybody else interested should make videos too!

Macfanforever 06-05-2011 11:56 AM

Wow .this is great.I hope it works.I would like to make one too.I have to use my camcorder to make it.

Not to discourage your attempts for stimulating an IYD tour, but how will making videos saying you want an In Your Dreams tour differ from your posting here that you want an In Your Dreams tour--other than to give a face to the message? Is that what you think will work? Perhaps you're correct. Stevie's and Fleetwood Mac's management are well aware of this website. John McVie has posted here, along with others associated with the band in various capacities. I think they already know the sentiment of the internet fans here. It doesn't seem the Fleetwood Mac internet fans are the people they really care about--they bought the album the day it came out. The 2500 people that sent Stevie birthday messages are the ones that bought the new cd causing it to debut at #6. I think the campaign Dave is speaking about is the campaign to reach others. How does one do that? Perhaps buy a few cds for your friends. Have many even heard Stevie's cd on the radio? Call your own local radio station and ask them to play it, maybe.

Perhaps Dave Stewart needs to give you more concrete information on what he really wants you to do. There is already information posted on this website saying a tour is probably going to happen starting in August.

I think Stevie's got to do more PR work, too. She had Oprah and Ellen. She's got to get Dave, Conan and Jay spots, as well. It's her album. She's got to continue to sell it.

why is no one posting this on her face book page? It is a direct link to her .

It may not differ in any significant way but it's something in addition to posting here. Dave has retweeted our videos and he has also said that we can send letters to her management.

I did see the tour information posted and I heard roughly the same things spoken from some people after The Wiltern show. The videos are just another fun way to show that the demand for a tour is there (and that we would like Dave to tour with her).

I'll tell you exactly what Dave wants us to do since he's been communicating with me about it.

a) campaign on Twitter
b) send letters to Stevie's management

Kristin Burns, David Wild and Dave Stewart all retweeted my video. I think the videos are a good idea because they are much more personal than a 160 character tweet. They let us say what we want to say in a bigger time frame AND they put faces and voices to the fans who want this to happen. In my opinion, a five minute long video is much more powerful than the same sentiment typed over and over again in a sentence or two and posted on Twitter every few minutes. At any rate, Dave liked my video and so did the other 50 people who retweeted it.

Stevie's people are all over the Ledge and Dave's people are all over Twitter. I guarantee she'll hear about this.

well . . . you'll be seen. You'll be noticed. My concern is you'll also be labeled.

I'm not being a hyper crazy fan in my video by any means. So really, being "labelled" doesn't concern me much.

Great job Dani. I re-tweeted it. I plan to write a letter to her management. I should have talked to them about it when I saw them in LA! (Liz Rosenberg and Sheryl Louis)
