Paying it forward, giving the gift of Stevie?

Last night I got IYD for a friend. She's recovering from surgery and we all know how therapeutic Miss Nicks' music is.

I was listening to Florence and the Machine in my car yesterday and thought, "IYD is just better, I am switching back to that." I can't stop listening to it. It is such a great album. I was thinking that everyone should have it. I will probably buy more and give as gifts. Such as for dad for Father's Day! Just thought of that one. ;)

I'm wondering how many of you have given the gift of Stevie, present or past?

Both of my nieces, 24 and 18, have gotten all Stevie-related releases their entire lives from me. When Brittany was 6 in 1991, she kept getting in trouble for singing along to "Sometimes It's A Bitch" from her parents. ;)

When all the press started about In Your Dreams, both of them texted me and asked when they were getting the CD from Uncle Michael!

Oh good job brainwashing! I wonder if my niece would like it, she is 8. A good time to start her!

My brother loved singing swear words in songs when he was little! Of course my mother just found it cute and funny.

My little cousin, her names Taylor heard me listening to Edge of Seventeen one day. She freaked out. I mean she loved it. So we sat down and we had a little listen to Bella Donna. She loved Stevie. So come her birthday, I got her BD, Wild Heart, The Dance, TISL, and The live in Chicago DVD. Yea I do Stevie big. Her fav song though was Gold and Braid:thumbsup:

Oh unrelated note......Lindsey Buckingham Scares her:lol:

LOL yea Taylor's freakin' awesome. I only Showed her the Dance where Lindsey is relatively tame. Thank god I didn't show her Live in Boston:eek: Or live Not That Funny on youtube.

Yeah, I've done it. Received absolutely NO feedback, either. So, I'm assuming they didn't like it.
But, that won't stop me from doing it again.
I actually tried to get my niece to like Stevie/FM when she was little (probably about 4). I put the headphones on her when we were driving somewhere and played Gypsy for her. I told her it was a song written about her cat, Gypsy.
She didn't buy it.

Kids these days! Me? You told me the stork delivered babies and I believed it till the fourth grade (we didn't have man vitamins back in the day;-)

I recently handed over my 1981 copy of Bella Donna to my best friend's son.

A bittersweet moment for sure, but the enthusiasm of a 20-year-old for "all things" classic rock (on vinyl) had me scrambling to turn him on to my favorite artists.

He is now an official Stevie/FM fan in training. His next training class will be Traffic.
