Post-Millenial Best of Stevie

I just had this interesting little thought of compiling the songs Stevie's released since 2000 into one "best of" CD, concentrating solely on the post-2000 work, both solo and with Fleetwood Mac.

Now, I'm sure this will either get completely ignored or absolutely shredded by folks who want more ballads or no covers or what have you. This is just my own little idea. If you have other ideas along these lines, I'd love to see them posted, along with discussion.

Anyway, Overture: The Best of Stevie Nicks (Volume 3)

1. Trouble in Shangri-la
2. In Your Dreams
3. Thrown Down
4. Candlebright
5. Secret Love
6. Planets Of The Universe (extended album version from the CD single)
7. Running Through The Garden
8. Wide Sargasso Sea
9. Fall From Grace
10. Destiny Rules
11. Sorcerer
12. Moonlight (A Vampire's Dream)
13. It's Only Love
14. Smile At You
15. Soldier's Angel
16. Say You Will
17. New Orleans
18. Everybody Finds Out
19. Ghosts Are Gone
20. Face The Promise (live from St. Louis - 2008)

You listed "Smile at You" twice.

5) Trouble In Shangri La
6) Planets Of The Universe
7) Bombay Sapphires
8) Fall From Grace

10) Illume
11) Thrown Down ("Wall Of Sound" version)

Always meant to ask: 11) Thrown Down ("Wall Of Sound" version)
Why the "Wall of Sound" ? :D

I heard the Wall Of Sound version nearly 2 years before Say You Will came out and fell in love with it. It has a magic & ambience the very skeletal Say You Will version is utterly lacking. The Say You Will Thrown Down is one of the few songs Lindsey utterly massacred of Stevie's.

Interesting question. Hrm, I'd guess (not sequenced):

Every Day
Planets of the Universe
Sorcerer
Fall From Grace
Love Is
Say You Will
Thrown Down
Illume
Destiny Rules
Secret Love
Italian Summer
In Your Dreams
Moonlight
Everybody Loves You
New Orleans

I was at the St. Louis show and loved Face The Promise. Is there a decent quality version of that floating around that I am not aware? If yes could someone PLEASE share it? The show was amazing for me. I had never been able to get so close to Stevie as I did that night. I got right up to the stage and she looked at me and it was like getting hit by lightning and tears started coming and my Sister was with me and she was the same way. We grew up on Mac and both love and adore Stevie. It was one amazing night for us.

I included the Wall of Sound version on a CD I burned for a karaoke friend of mine who is also a diehard Stevie fan. I knew she was a diehard because 1) she said she wanted to sing "Desert Angel" and "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You" at karaoke, 2) she asked to borrow one of my CD+Gs to sing "Crystal" and she and I did several duets of "Whenever I Call You Friend" and we didn't just sing them, we *felt* them.

She kept that CD in her car for a good while to play it and she LOVED that version of "Thrown Down."

I loved "Face The Promise" from the first time I heard it on Bob Seger's CD. I would sing along/mouth the words and imagine singing it whenever I played it. The funny thing is, I often sang it as I'd imagine Stevie singing it, and I think I even had some thoughts hoping that Stevie WOULD sing it. Little did I know that she actually would include it in her setlist in 2008.

Hmmm that's an interesting topic! Would this include "new" songs?

STEVIE NICKS - TIMESPACE II
1. [New Song]
2. Trouble In Shangri-la
3. Wide Sargasso Sea
4. Destiny Rules
5. Sorcerer
6. For What It's Worth
7. Running Through the Garden
8. Moonlight
9. [New Song]
10. Crash Into Me
11. You May Be The One
12. Enchanted (Soundstage - edited like that album tracks so there's no audience)
13. Planets Of The Universe (Extended Version)
14. Goodbye Baby
BONUS TRACK:
15. Love Is (Piano Demo) -- being as she did this version live on tour :)

There, I think that does fair homage to each album from the last decade:thumbsup:

Thanks so much Jeff! This rocks! I wish she would do more rocking songs like this.

Thanks again for posting.
