New Tori Amos Album!

First Stevie, then Kate and now my love - Tori!
Entitled: NIGHT OF THE HUNTERS.
HOLY S****BALLS!

She'll also be TOURING in September, when the Album come out.

Hey Tori fans,

We have some exciting news to report. Tori has a new album titled Night of Hunters set for September release. The album will coming out via the world’s most celebrated classical label, Deutsche Grammophon.

Here’s how Tori describes the new record:

"It's a 21st century song cycle inspired by classical music themes spanning over 400 years. I have used the structure of a song cycle to tell an ongoing, modern story. The protagonist is a woman who finds herself in the dying embers of a relationship. In the course of one night she goes through an initiation of sorts that leads her to reinvent herself allowing the listener to follow her on a journey to explore complex musical and emotional subject matter. One of the main themes explored on this album is the hunter and the hunted and how both exist within us.”

Yay! I always love knowing there will be a new Tori album. I hope I like it more than the last one.

I like Give, and whats the other one...Lady In Blue? Welcome To England was ok, but I didn't understand the intent or purpose of the song.

The last Tori album I loved in full start to finish was Scarlet's Walk...and that's a hard album to top, so I'll give this one a try.

I LOVE Lady In Blue, Ophelia, Starling, Give and Curtain Call. But thats about it. I really love "The Beekeeper", actually. I thought that album was seriously very clever and deep. It took me 5 years to really appreciate it, and now I love it! I love "American Doll Posse" when it came out, but it's not aged well.

it's such a shame that this thread got missed because of that OTHER Tori thread about her face. So here goes....BUMP.

Just booked tickets for the tour - Row E Manchester, somewhere in block B, Arena for London. Row D Glasgow, Row 5 Copenhagen and looking straight down the isle in Amsterdam.

Anyone else plan on seeing Mamma T this year?

As long as you're in the front stalls, you'll be fine. Plus if you do the M&G's there is always a chance you'll get upgraded. I got moved up to front row in Zurich last year

oh dear. I love Tori and always will but she hasn't made a decent album since Scarlet's Walk. My expectations are going to be nill for this project. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I really really like "The Beekeeper" and certain songs on both "American Doll Posse" and "Abnormally Attracted To Sin". As an album, AATS didn't do much for me at all. Still, I always look forward to any new projects from her

you know, I really liked (and still listen to) The Beekeeper, although it was universally hated in the Tori Amos community. Doll Posse is really where it started to go downhill for me. There were some great songs, like AATS, but overall both albums are just way too long. I think her work could benefit from an outside producer...maybe Dave Stewart!:laugh:

I take it the general admission show you are referring to is Dublin? I hung around outside that bloody park from 8am and was in the front row. SO excellent and my fav Tori show to date.

Basically, if you do the m&g, hang around afterwards and Mindy (T's security person) comes out with upgrades. She does front row first usually and swaps people's tickets. Some people in 2nd, 3rd and 4th rows will get bumped up, so she gives there tickets to people that are further back, if that makes any sense :)
