I thought this would be a good thread for quick questions that don't need a full posting:

1) What is Stevie saying in Italian Summer "from the islands you see LEGAELIE(?)and Capri" my bf is from Italy and he has no idea what Leggaelle is??

2) Does any one else crack up at the way Dave sings, "Can't find you way home", it must be the accent, "Cauuunn't". I can't stop singing it in that accent!

It's Stevie that's singing "can't" oddly on that song!

Someone here told us that it's Li Galli an island near Positano. Michele

I noticed Stevie's British accent on "can't find your way home", as well.
I wonder if she did that to blend with Dave?

"You can't change that, it flows so beautifully" ;)

I think it's because the original speaker she is quoting is a Brit.

I must admit I find the way she sings "can't" a little jarring at times, it sounds like a weird overdub half the time to me. Dunno why she didn't just sing it naturally, Stevie is not English

But you see, Stevie finds the English language very... proper
Anyone know that one?

She sings quite a few words with an English inflection, always has done, right back as early as BN. One that always leaps out at me is in 'Races Are Run' - 'If we could staht again...'

Then there are the 'Sistuhs of the Moon' and 'Sistah Honey', of course.

Almost any time she sings 'tears' it comes out 'tee-uhs'.

It's like she's singing with what we'd in the UK call her 'phone voice'.

I've never noticed that, but I do remember talking to my friend about Stevie's background vocals on OMH and the friend said they thought it was Christine, because the singer seemed to have an accent.
