Anyone else loosing sleep?
I, during the week, am usually in bed by 10pm, but over the last month (since I joined the ledge) I've been getting to sleep later and later.
Since the stream came out, I've been listening to it until 2am. My normal 6am wake up time has become 7. I don't look as put together for work as usual... They must think I'm on drugs, but it's just Stevie... THE BEST DRUG EVER!!!!! |
I was actually losing sleep waiting for release day. But now that I have heard the music and LOVE IT, I'm sleeping great again :D.
|
Sure I've been loosing sleep. I've been suffering from insomnia for years now. But then again, it's been less frustrating these days since I've been listening to IYD all the time.

Stevie is like a drug & we've all been fiending for a fix for sooooo long, this album stream has been like CrAcK! So, it's normal to lose sleep until the excitement & newness wears off a little bit.

I've held off listening to the new songs, and as each day passes, it's getting harder and harder. But I can make it.
I stayed up way too late last night watching old Stevie interviews on YouTube. Might just do the same again tonight. |

I told myself today that it wouldn't hurt to just listen to one song in its entirety. Then I realized it was the devil on one shoulder talking into my ear...and I held back. I can make it. You can make it. |
I'm not much of a sleeper anyway.
But I will say that I have tons of work to complete right now & this album is not helping! (Unfortunately I'm not one to work with music playing at the same time.) I suspect that there's a correlation that can be graphed . A new Mac-related album comes out, & work levels drop for many posters. Sort of like how several months after a city blackout, the birth rate goes up. For that matter, if this album makes the Ledgie pregnancy rate go up, I'm guessing that will go in a different thread. - Jake |
i don't sleep that well either. but since hearing the cd, the chorus of moonlight and the ending of annabelle lee have been stuck in my head at night, lol. it's just - there they are! can't tune them out.

When the stream first came out, it threw my sleep cycle right out of whack; JUST as I had got it back into a normal routine. So, I'm still trying to get my sleeping pattern back.
It's effecting my work more though, I have two huge assignments to do for next week and I keep trying to work on them, but I get distracted by listening to the new music. |
I haven't been sleeping well. I find myself playing the lyrics in my head - even "In (my) Dreams"!!
It reminds me of when I was in college and after I'd study I'd still be going over notes in my mind and in my dreams. It's worth it though, because this release is just SO incredible. Jamie |
I have only heard snipits on Rolling Stone site. I'm nervous to hear the rest. I stay up late reading reviews & interviews, watching videos. But I can't bring myself to listen to it. I'm scared that it's been hyped up too much and I won't love it and boy do I want to love it. That always happens with movies for me. I am crazy.

[Here's a List of Songs to Sleep by and Dreams is #5]
From Market Wired on yahoo May 1, 2014 http://finance.yahoo.com/news/sweet-...154155194.html 'Sweet Dreams', 'California Dreamin' & 'All I Have To Do Is Dream' Are the Nation's All Time Favourite Sleep-Themed Songs New music poll shows that golden oldies have stood the test of time in the kip tunes chart Sleep-themed songs from the swinging Sixties top the sleep charts, and only three songs from the millennium make the top 20 LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - May 1, 2014) - 'Sweet Dreams' by Eurythmics, 'California Dreamin' by The Mama's & The Papa's and 'All I Have To Do Is Dream' by the Everly Brothers are the nation's all time favourite sleep-themed songs according to a new music poll. The research conducted by Travelodge, surveyed 2,500 adults to identify Britain's all time top 20 sleep-themed music chart. Interestingly, key findings revealed that despite thousands of sleep-related songs being recorded over history, just three tunes from the last two decades attained a place in the charts - which goes to prove that the golden oldies are the best. Topping the poll in number one position is Eurythmics signature hit, 'Sweet Dreams which was released in 1983. The up-tempo beat and synthesised riff gave Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart their breakthrough into commercial success and went silver after selling a quarter of million copies. The second most popular sleep associated song to make the charts is 'California Dreamin' by The Mama's and The Papa's - which only charted at number 23 the first time it was released in the UK back in 1966. Although it charted at number nine upon being re-released in 1997, the song has stood the test of time and today it is the nation's second most popular song associated with sleep. The third song to make the listing is The Everly Brothers classic love ballad 'All I Have To Do Is Dream' which spent six weeks in the number one position back in 1958. Despite a string of hits prior to this release, this song was actually The Everly Brothers' first number one hit in the UK - and has clearly endured ever since. Another song from the 50's making it into the top five is The Chordettes' 'Mr Sandman' - which was released 60 years ago in 1954 and went to number 11 in the charts, before being re-recorded by The Four Aces in the same year and reaching number nine in the charts. Making up the top five listing is 'Dreams' by Fleetwood Mac, which was their only number one hit in the US, and which reached number 24 in the UK in 1977. The track gained bigger success in 1998 when a version by The Corrs reached number six in the UK charts. Only three songs from the 2000's made the top 20 list, with the highest entry being Avicii's Wake Me Up - which spent three weeks at number one in 2013. The only other entries from this millennium are My Chemical Romance's 'Sleep' and Sean Kingston's Party All Night (Sleep All Day). Listed below is the nation's all time top 20 favourite sleep themed songs.
