Who feels bad for doubting Dave?

I never doubted him, but it seemed a lot of people were nervous about this project because of his hand in it.

Has anyone (Lindsey, Sheryl, ect...) done a better updated version of an old demo than Dave has? I don't think I've read one negative comment about Moonlight... and there's ALWAYS one negative nancy in the bunch. Too bad he didn't produce Tower, RTTG, Sorcerer... well, really ANY demo she has remade in the last decade.

really? feel bad for doubting dave? i had my reservations, but i don't feel bad for doubting him. i didn't owe him or stevie the benefit of the doubt.

No not really at all.. I never doubted him as a producer, I just questioned him as a co-writer. And duetter.

I guess I'm curious about where everyone's reservations came from.

I can't say I feel bad for doubting Dave... I think we had a right to be nervous about Stevie working with someone completely different. But I definitely am considering sending Dave a thank you card, as cheesy as that sounds. I think he captured and even brought out aspects of Stevie I don't think we've ever seen.

I never doubted him. His track record is too great.

he was an unknown quantity  he seemed like a completely off-the-wall choice (especially because of some of the things that came out a couple years ago about their "relationship"), and stevie's work is notorious for only being as good as her collaborators. stevie herself hasn't exactly been on top of the world for the last 10 years. we had crystal visions and numerous jukebox tours. i was fully expecting this album to be a dud.

My card might mention that he has pissed all over Jimmy Iovine as Stevie's best solo producer.

I didn't doubt him. I trust Stevie's judgement at this stage in her career. She knows what feels and sounds right. The girl has been around for awhile. ;)

"Guilt is a useless emotion".

I never doubted Dave's abilities, I simply expressed some concern that the album would be too country for my taste with the direction he's been going in.

I think he has pissed all over everyone, sans Ken Caillat and Richard Dashut... and IMO, he may be tied with them... time will tell.

That's true, his work with Wilson Phillips & Alanis is FAB!:)

I never doubted him. I'm not really familiar with his work outside Eurythmics, but I do like their stuff an awful lot, so how bad could it have been?
