Stevie on the charts
This week on the allaccess chart...stevie is up from 20 to 19 on AC and unfortunately drops from 28 to 29 on AAA
|
She's parked at #64 on the Amazon chart, which is really bizarre. The new Emmylou Harris and Robbie Robertson albums are much higher up on the list, but Lady Gaga is actually below Stevie. It's like the world has gone topsy-turvy.
|
she was in the 50s yesterday, but has yet to break higher. I'm starting to worry.
|
With the crap tunes that people do like .I hope she can get good numbers.but I have a gut feeling she wont do good.I hope i'm wrong.

Not surprised.....Sad to say she's just not relevant anymore. Her hardcore base will buy the album when released...But I suspect it will go the way of TISL.

sadly
I'm not expecting it to light up the charts, the music world is a very different place to when TISL was out. (Rebecca Black anyone?!) I imagine it'll appear in the top 20 albums on first week sales, but after that....
the videos really need to show up about now, with YouTube around who knows,if the ideas are clever enough people will watch |

I'm sure IYD will make a huge leap on Amazon after Oprah. Compared to other albums that have a May 3 release, Stevie is number 3 on Amazon, behind The Beastie Boys and Fleet Foxes. I think had they released the music video for Secret Love already, the album would be higher.
|
I wouldn't be too concerned with Stevie not being very high on Amazon, with the greatest respect, the majority of Stevie's fans are in the older demographic who won't necessarily order off Amazon, and will instead just buy it in the shop.
Heart debuted in the top 10, I'd be very surprised if Stevie didn't debut in the top 5, if not top 3. |
not surprised at all....and she's gonna go down...they (her record co) r not promoting her single at all..no video???!!! REALLY??!! the song is going to b forgotten by the time the video comes out..its all about imagery...ppl would b seeing this video....IF THERE WAS ONE...in their heads everytime the song was heard..its a no brainer..****TY PROMOTION...so far..wake up warner bros!!

I think things will pick up after Oprah, and hopefully another release of sorts!!

You can't say that Stevie would be higher on the Amazon Bestseller's List if she released the music video for "Secret Love", because I don't see a music video floating around for Emmylou Harris' album and she seems to be doing quite well for herself...in fact, she doesn't even have a Wikipedia page for her album.
Point being, let's not be so vain as to judge the success of this album based on her Amazon or eventually iTunes ranking. None of that matters. If the album is well-received critically, and if the album has any kind of longevity, which are the most important indicators to a successful album, then that will tell the tale. The fact that she's making waves on radio is in itself noteworthy because she has been able to get her new material noticed by a format that would easily play "Rhiannon" and "Landslide" in a second. |
I agree with the fact that had they fricken released the damn music video already - maybe the song would be paid attention a bit more?
Ironically I was at work last night and I listen to various stations on Sirius XM and I heard SL 4 times (on 4 stations but I can't remember all of them  ) So the song is definitely moving out and about...I think once the video comes out the numbers will spike. Then there's the oprah show - and she's on the today show right on the album release...I think it will all hit from there... Maybe Stevie is prolonging the release...you know how she is - she's done it before. I also kinda think that maybe the strategy is waiting for the video and all the promoting until the album is near dropping - which seems really odd to do...but maybe if people are shocked with OMG stevie has a new record? And they're seeing her all over tv and the news and the internet, that could do good things....but I dunno that's just my thought on maybe what is happening. |
