This was during the Sunset Sessions back in February and it was discussed at length.

Thank you.I wondering if Stevie will bring Vanessa on tour with her in May.

I really wouldn't mind if her opener was Vanessa. She really is very talented and VERY under-rated. Plus she really seems to get on with Stevie so well. I think it's a win-win !

I rather have her then Chris Issacs ,I like Chris, and his tunes.but it seems like Chris's set dragged for a long time.especially hearing it for 8 times.I think his set list was to long.Vanessa's is just right.

[sequencing queen strikes again. Is Stevie angling to make a living by track sequencing as a profession?]
Vanessa Carlton Interview Pop Matters http://www.popmatters.com/pm/feature...anessa-carlto/ Excerpt: The opening track (and first single) “Carousel” is the only song on the record that is immediately reminiscent of your previous work. But as soon as the bridge kicks in, with those choirgirls so bewitchingly chanting “I thought I heard your voice in the thunder / is the owl casting spells that we’re under?” you’ve immediately set a tone unlike anything you’ve produced before. I’m glad you noticed that. That was part of the reason why that is the first song. When you get to the bridge it becomes a séance, and this whole record feels like a séance to me. Actually, do you know who placed that song there? Stevie Nicks. She and I have been very close since I toured with her a few years ago and she has had a huge impact on my creative life. She loves this record, and she’s great at sequencing, so I asked if she would do it. She really spent time, she really thought it through, and she put it in the order that it is in. So that’s all Stevie. Wow. That’s a lot of power to give over to someone else. It’s a huge job and quite difficult for the person who makes the record to do it. Having distance from the songs after you complete them is so important, but you don’t really want the record company to do it, so it’s tricky. This record is one of those rare, start-to-finish gems that hits all the right notes and never overstays its welcome, and the sequencing has everything to do with that. So, good job, Stevie! Yes! Thank you, Stevie. (laughs) |

[From an In Style Magazine interview with Vanessa. Comment on Vacationing with Stevie!]
DECEMBER 10, 2015 @ 12:15 PM http://www.instyle.com/news/vanessa-...lbum-interview BY: CLAIRE STERN Most people know Vanessa Carlton for her chart-topping debut single "A Thousand Miles," but that was more than 14 years ago (if you can even believe it). In the decade-plus since, the 35-year-old singer-songwriter heralded for her piano-driven ditties has, well, grown up: She got married (to Deer Tick frontman John McCauley), had a child (Sidney, 11 months), and released three albums under a new indie music label (Dine Alone Records). Her latest is Liberman, a 10-track compilation that marks a calculated departure from her early pop efforts, with swirling synth-rich melodies and dreamy acoustics. We recently caught up with Carlton at the InStyle offices to talk about her recent release, vacationing with Stevie Nicks, and, of course, her breakout hit. Here's an excerpt from our conversation: Is it true that Stevie Nicks officiated your wedding? Yep, we've been friends ever since we toured together in 2004. When John and I got married, we wanted it to be just the two of us, but we needed another person to actually do it. Thankfully, Stevie was available. I spend Christmas with her family in Phoenix every year, and they're great people. What do you guys do? Mostly hang out on the couch and do nothing—it's really nice. Sometimes we'll play music, too. |
