In part 1, there is a sort of mis-filed song.. and it's an extended edit of "I Can't Wait", where the instrumental break from the album version has been worked into the "extended rock mix" (available on Enchanted).

In part 2, there is another mis-filed song.. an extended edit of "Gypsy" which really should be called the "Mike Bise version", since the idea really came from his imagination... this restores a piece which is lost in the extended version available on "The Chain - Boxed Set". The levels here have been boosted to match the sound of the remastered version available on The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac set.

Thanks for the shout out, Jeff, but all I cared about was getting THAT WAIL of Stevie's BACK INTO "Gypsy"! As much Stevie as possible in one "Gypsy"! It was a shame it was edited out of The Chain.

Eh.....the recorded version is actually better. The atmospheric "do do do"s that get added to the chorus add more oomph and substance, and the emotional pivot of the song ("so she stood in the hallway frozen....in the dark....and her heart broke down, she cried, she fell to the floor") is starker and more affecting in the recorded version.

Sometimes I get that Stevie doesn't like production because it changes how her song sounds in a substantial way (such as "Smile At You") but in this particular case I just can't hear how the piano "Love Is" is better.

Jeff. You just made my life soooooooooooooooooooo much better.

This could very well be my favorite demo of a released song in the history of Stevie Nicks. It's so beautiful it hurts...

All I can say is WOW. Thank you so much for posting this! I fell in love with the live version and this is such a treat.
