Fleetwood Mac’s darling singer Stevie Nicks has a new album dropping that she cowrote with Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart. Nicks’ collaboration In Your Dreams calls to mind the title of Eurythmics’ 1983 hit single “Sweet Dreams.”

“This has been the best musical year of my life, honestly,” Nicks admits. ”And I’ve done lots of albums with Fleetwood Mac and solo records that have been fantastic.” One year ago, Stevie invited Dave Stewart to her home in L.A. where she found in him a writing partner and producer. She gave him a book of poetry that she pulled from her journals containing roughly 50 poems. They drew from classic ’60s pop for inspiration. ”I had to keep asking Dave whether we were making a Beatles’ album,” she says of “Everybody Loves You.” Stewart makes the comparison of the record’s unique retro sound to “a festival in 1969.”

Nicks wrote 7 of her new LP’s 13 tracks with Dave Stewart. There are also two tracks that Michael Campbell of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers wrote that Stevie writes her own song on top of. She even pulls a hidden gem out of the song vault circa 1975-’76 that she’s kept under wraps until now. In Your Dreams hits shelves May 5th.

Someone really needs to tell Stevie she isn't John Lennon, honestly

Although, if 7 are Nicks/Stewart, and 2 are Nicks/Campbell, that means there's 4 left that should be Nicks only. Unless my math is bad. And at 5am, I wouldn't be surprised.

I believe someone on another thread said that "New Orleans" was co-written with Neale Heywood. Based on this individual's correct call about the placement of this song on the album (track 5), I will tend to believe this person actually has inside information unlike some other poseur trolling these boards.

Yeah this isn't adding up, because she has already said that she got sole credit on 3 songs. If the glove don't fit, we must aquit. I hope that 4 songs are hers alone - secret love, italian summer, new orleans and soldiers angel. That would make sense.

I must say, nothing I've heard of this album so far has sounded remotely retro or '60s in the least...

Cheaper than Free? Maybe? Tammy Wynette and George Jones

But I thought she finished Moonlight in 2009? And she has had the first two verses of it since forever ago, so Moonlight would for sure be just Stevie.

Lmao yeah, I've been trying to figure out exactly who wrote what, but then some songs don't fit! I could see Italian Summer being a collab, but she clearly states in one interview "it is a song I wrote back in 2009 in Italy" Oh Stevie... you confuse us all.

Blasphemy!!

By the way, George and Tammy didn't record together until 1971.

seems like Cheaper Than Free would fit well next to "We're Not The Jet Set" and "God's Gonna Getcha For That".

Don't forget all, Stevie changes her stories a lot, whether for convenience or just bad memory :)
