I say we all pool our $$$ together and book Stevie for a private party...haha :woohoo:

Oh, that was attempted many years ago on another board. Boy, that was one epic *****$how.

Those 3rd party agencies will quote an inflated price since, since the only service it actually can provide in regard to Stevie is bring the inquiry to Paradigm (Stevie's manager out-sourced corporate and specialty gigs to them) which would pay a small commission for the lead. Paradigm also won't quote a price until it confirms the legitimacy of the request. They don't want that figure to be public knowledge because it makes negotiating difficult, among other problems.

Don't bother filling that out if you aren't offering at least $300,000. That's just the price of putting the band on stage - it greatly helps if you are a private corporation with a fleet of private planes to fly the band out from the Los Angeles area.

Oh, and you better have a stage, lights, sound system, and backstage amentities ready to go.

Fleetwood Mac costs $5oo ooo for a private show. Stevie solo is half the price.

In a nutshell someone decided to organize a "private show" for fans only. I guess things had moved along to the point where it *almost kinda sorta* looked like it would happen. So even without confirmation of a date, venue or anything, he/she started accepting ticket money from people via PayPal. Apparently there was some kind of large down payment that needed to be fronted . Of course, after some additional twists and turns, it all fell through and this individual had to return all this money. If I'm not mistaken, they were also going to try to load up the contract with stipulations about greeting fans, etc. It was just so ridiculous and improbable from the get-go. I'm surprised anyone parted with their cash.

It was quite a failure, but at least someone tried...

Ya never know what could happen folks.

pretty much right on target.
sometimes they've done it for more, sometimes for less.

Stevie's camp was cut a $300,000 check for the show at MGM Grand at Foxwoods last August, all they had to do was show up with their crew.

MGM covered security, venue, comps, etc., and kept money related to concessions.

He (as if you didn't know) started accepting reservations . There were no actual tickets.

Funny stuff. Actually, there were no "twists and turns". Several fans berated the idea and went to great lengths to see that it did not happen - even going as far as to contact John Kinney at the NicksFix. Ultimately, this led to him posting a message on the Fix that there were no concerts being planned and that the rumours were false. That killed the event and all plans to move forward with the event were canceled.

You are mistaken. There were no stipulations about greeting fans, set lists, etc. Only wild fantasies from a few vocal fans.

You would be surprised at how many people parted with their cash to see this thing happen. Ultimately, it wasn't meant to be. But after years of discussion on several boards, at least it was attempted by a very ambitious (although probably a bit naive at the time) fan with sincerest intentions.

1) Why would they go to John Kinney to STOP it (whcy would they want to stop it & and what control did he have over anything?) I highly doubt that was the reason it didn't happen.

2) You're right, at least it was attempted. It just wasn't realistic to think it could actually happen unless a couple of fans had large sums of cold hard cash to put up front.

Well, they didn't go to him personally to stop it per se, but by bombarding him with emails regarding whether or not the event was real, it led to him/them posting a statement regarding the event on the NicksFix saying that the "concert rumours were false". Of course they were false. Nothing about this event was official, so he/they had no other choice but to post that statement. However, posting that statement pretty much ended everything. If those individuals had not contacted the powers that be demanding an explanation, negotiations could have gotten much farther and the event could have possibly taken place. But I use the term "fans" loosely when referring to those that went to great lengths to see that this event did not happen and I'll just leave it at that.
