hmmm... I wish...
I wish that there was some way to share in the new album release without having to travel. I'm from Columbus, Oh. I'm not going anywhere. This is an event to me, but it's not to those around me. It's like there is a party in my pants but I'm the only person invited. There has to be some type of online thing going on or something that I can share in. I think this could be Stevie's last solo project and it's a big deal. And if the album is any good at all, it will be a major deal... Any ideas?

I felt that way when Say You Will came out... i was working in the music dept at Best Buy... I made this huge 2-D poster out of photographs of the band on a large posterboard. It was really classy. In fact, I spent nearly a whole weekend making it with my then girlfriend. The release day came... the store opened... and I think we sold about ... Mmm... maybe 15 copies of the record that day? Talk about limp weener. ;)

can't someone come up with an online event or something... not everybody has the the bucks to travel across the country.

Why don't you do something more... local..? I mean, invite over a bunch of pals... buy a copy of the CD and play it over some beers or video games or... whatever... introduce some Stevie Nicks to people who perhaps don't listen to her? That would probably help feed your excitement more than anything else. ;)

Well I don't know what you're into. It was just a suggestion. Who the f*ck cares what kind of atmosphere that Stevie might want you to listen to the record in? I honestly believe she wouldn't care less. Buy the record, and enjoy it when and wherever you will. Nothing helps me more, in terms of my passion for the band's music, than to introduce it to other people who you'd expect not to like it (especially when they end up liking it).

I've actually been thinking about organizing a release party myself recently since there are several Ledgies in Austin. Any excuse for a party is my life's mantra! :D

Well, nothing says "slippin it in there" like playing music that people tend to dislike while they're being distracted by niceties that they enjoy (aka the games/beer). So... maybe for Jondalar it's wine and pantomine. Who knows? |
I was thinking if they're are organizing something in Boston then surely they could have one out here as well. There did used to be more bay area Ledgies on here though. Some of them friends of mine like Rickypt and Amber either left or were banned.:distress:

P.S. I'm way to lazy to slip into anything. I'de rather lay in bed and eat a ding dong or a ho ho, while reading shakespeare. |
