Lindsey Buckingham Guests on Stevie Nicks' "In Your Dreams"

Stevie Nicks will release her first solo album in a decade on May 3rd. It's called In Your Dreams and her former Fleetwood Mac bandmate and ex-lover Lindsey Buckingham appears on the song, "The Soldier's Angel."

Nicks told VH1 that "it's very serious, it's a song that I wrote about Walter Reed that's called 'Soldier's Angel.' So Lindsey came in and played guitar. It's just Lindsey and me. It's very Buckingham Nicks and I think that it's going to be a very serious and important song to the world and I think it's a very serious and important song for Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks because it sounds like Buckingham Nicks. Because it is."

The smoky voiced singer also said about Buckingham that "it's just him playing guitar and me and he sings with me on the choruses. And it's ominous. It's an ominous song and his voice lent even more ominousity to the whole thing. So I think the world will be really knocked back when they hear 'Soldier's Angel' and I'm really excited for them to hear that."

Are you excited to hear "Soldier's Angel" for the reunion of Buckingham and Nicks?

Strange that nobody lists it as among their fave from the album, but my suspicion is that it will be her greatest "solo" song since "Twisted."

p.s. -- she's hilarious.

yeah, she apparently gave it a big intro - somewhat similar to what's in that article. two people who went didn't have anything to say about that song. they raved about few others.

Well, a Buckingham/Nicks thing could be wonderful. I didn't know until recently that LB played on that song, but when I first heard the title, I had visions of "Operation Desert Shield! Operation Desert Storm! Operation Desert AAAaaangeeelllll!! :distress:

So, I'm reserving further comment until I hear the song.

Oh, and lest we forget...."Where is my huuuuuuuusbaaaand??!!"

Christ.

That line captures perfectly everything that is so endearing about Stevie. It's her grand sense of self-importance and her occasionally circular, inane logic. But she delivers it all so seriously and sincerely. Love her!

This is the only song I'm really looking forward to hearing from the album. If it's good enough then I'll buy the album for it and if it's not then I'll just give it a miss and maybe get round to getting the album after I've got some other things on my list. If I do then it'll be the first Stevie album I'll have bought.

I love it when Lindsey brings his ominousity.

I'm relieved to know that BN sounds like BN and not like Captain and Tennille.

Is it Buckingham Nicks though? With BN, it's not just the voices, but Lindsey's crafting as well that makes it BN. I wonder how much he was involved in the actual construction of the song. What was his involvement in "Twisted"?

Me, too.

(But on another note, I violently disagree with all the Desert Angel hate I'm reading in this thread.)

Me three :D

I've heard Stevie's one song from the upcoming album, and it didn't do anything for me. I hope the one with Lindsey is a lot better - and actually suspect that it will be.
