Fireflies (Remix)

Anyone have a decent mp3 for Fireflies (The Remix Version)? - Not the live LP version. Thank you... Dani

You can hear the needle on the front, but it's decent:

Ooh awesome!! Thank you soo much. I have a program where I can cut that off the beginning if I want. But I love the crackle... gives it that vintage record sound. :blob1:

Ah, memories- or ugh, memories: Playing "Fireflies" is the first time I ever got ridiculed for being a big SN fan.
I was excited for a new song from SN and played it for friends, who hated it- 'what is that? it's not rock and roll, it's not even good country-rock, it's just nothing!'- I really got dressed down over 'Fireflies'- I think it was around 1981.
To be young and naive- I was so surprised to get clobbered by such a strong negative reaction from a song by Stevie Nicks.
I guess 'Fireflies' was early training. It does meander some and doesn't really have a distinguishable beginning, bridge, chorus, or conclusion, but I still find the song enjoyable.
Those people were expendable- The music of SN throughout my lifetime has not been.

I love this song and really appreciate these mixes. What's not to like?

Garbo, I know, right? I don't know what their problem was! They were all quite a bit older than me, and some 'mentored' me, in their own ways.
I guess it was 1980. I cried, when the song (and me) got so made fun of.
Did it come out in early '80? I would have been 15. If it was after June of '80, I would've been 16. I don't think I cried after 16. Who knows?
Think I'll spin it now:)

It was December of 1980 the album was released..I was 18 then and played it with another Stevie fan in her car for someone who was not. His reaction was "what is this sh*t.?I loved it then and now.

Sorry for my cluelessness, but other than the fade-outs, how are these mixes different from the original on the Live album?

mikebise 02-18-2011 11:40 AM

Lots of differences. The drums are mixed differently. On the second "Everyone fights, everyone fights", Lindsey overdubs himself in there (he doesn't sing on the second one on the album version).

The ending has completely different Stevie vocals: "Like a sailing ship..." etc., not like the album version at all.
