Secret Love Poll - "Safe" or "Saved"?
"I am not asking salvation from you
I’m just asking to be safe for a while" Wait, wait. I hear it as "I am not asking salvation from you I’m just asking to be saved for a while" I hear "saved," possibly because it goes with "to be held" from the rhyming couplet earlier in the song. Of course both "safe" and "saved" go interestingly with salvation. As has been pointed out, you can't really be "saved" for awhile whereas you can be "safe" for a temporary span of time. ETA:  I forgot to make it a poll. |
I think what littlecharmer said basically sums it up, I don't see how there can be a debate about it

Safe. I think it's so much cleverer, "saved" makes the link between the two lines too obvious.
