the quality on this isnt that great...it might improve if youtube approves the upload but i garantee they WONT! i uploaded this video awhile back, but was immediately removed! it was recently re-aired on Comedy Central, which i dvr'd and the picture quality is awesome! (its the video i use for my CV dvd)

Thank you for that suite. Was so excited bc i had only seen standback from snl before they yanked it. is it because warner bros hold the license to the video?

oh...you thought i meant this is my upload...its not. i uploaded it to youtube a few months ago but it was immediately removed. this current upload is someone else. but what i meant is, when i did upload it before, it was from a dvr copy that is awesome quality. but, my upload was removed because of the NBC license.

No i understood :) Just meant ty for telling me about the re-air. Just flashed in my mind that it may be on Netflix as well. They have a lot of SNL seasons that you can watch instantly.

Oh believe me i am the confusing one lol. Albeit this is the first discussion board i have been a part of. Also am not really that up on all the lingo and sometimes the true language of my words get lost in the cyber world with nothing but raised eyebrows and huhs? Oh and i definitely need to figure out how to use more emoticons on here. This :) and the ;) are all i know.

I have always found it weird that Stevie chose to perform Nightbird live on two shows, but has never done it in an actual concert. WTF Stevie?!

Yeah that very same thought has occurred to me as well ( shrugs shoulders and extends arms). Her current voice would be splendid for "Nightbird" in my opinion. This has always been one of my favorites.

I think she was doing it on TV because it was a relatively current single at that point. Had she toured that spring, she may have put it in her set.

As for why she never did it on all the tours after that, who knows.

i think she performed it on SNL and SG to promote it as a single, to boost sales...but I think the tour ended before Nightbird was released as a single.

No, all the old SNL's on Netflix on demand are missing the musical numbers. I was so disappointed because I went looking for a few and they aren't there. They even cut a skit with Sigorney Weaver and Christopher Durang doing a medely from a fictional operetta they were supposedly in, I'm guessing because it used adapted lyrics from popular songs of the day, including Sigorney's character having gotten pregnant and singing Papa Don't Preach. I'd love to see that again.

I have really great quality avi clips of both SNL performances. They don't suffer from the drop-out seen on youtube, etc. Screen shots below. First two of Stand Back; second, Nightbird. I will upload to my mediafire folder if enough people want them. They are large files.
