Who is the beauty? Who, the beast?

God, this is a beautiful song.

Well, Stevie & Gordon Perry have both said that "Beauty And The Beast" was piano demoed here in Dallas, along with "Sara" in 1978. Whether this is 1978 or Dallas, I dunno. There could be several early piano demos. But it seems likely 1978.

As David made clear in another thread, the "Tom" that Stevie talks to/refers to in this demo session is not Tom Petty, but rather Tom Moncrieff, that guy who co-wrote the music for "Gold And Braid".
