Stevie Nicks on Tom Petty Live DVD
I just watched this DVD tonight! I have to say this is the best modern performance of SDMHA I have seen. "I need to know" and "The Insider" are fabulous. Her harmonies on "Learning to Fly" and "Don't Come Around Here No More" are fantastic.
She seems so happy and passionate. I really hope these are the vocals we get on the new album. SDMHA and I need to know. |
Learning to Fly
For some reason this one gave me chills. Edit: Her dancing in this one kills me! |
I love how happy, energetic, and free spirited Stevie always seems with Tom Petty. I would kill to see them do a show together.

I really love watching Stevie perform with Tom. You can tell they're just good old friends. She's giddy and almost shy with him and his band. And I love how she tries to look over at him all fierce like during SDMHA and they both just smile. :)

She was just AMAZING in these performances. :] Her energy and vocals are off the chart!! It would be good to see her be like this for the new album:nod:

She sounds amazing on this one too! |
I think these performance with Tom are her absolute best in the last 15 years. Honestly, I didn't think she could perform with such passion and abandon anymore. This version of INTK reminds me very much of her Red Rocks performance.

Excerpt from Tom Petty interview, Mojo October 2009
When you collaborated with Stevie Nicks in the '80s, many fans felt you'd joined rock aristocracy. Had you? I was really, really torn about that, and I wouldn't do it for the longest time. Stevie and I were friends since '78 and she so wanted to do it, and I was going, it's not my thing, it's not right. But Stevie is a very convincing and determined person, and so honest; she really wears her heart on a sleeve and goes for it, and that can be hard. She finally hustled her way in – and she really did hustle: I'd show up somewhere and there she was and she was going to come over and hang out. We weren't easy on her – boy, in those days with the Heartbreakers that could be a real hard room to hang in. But she made a determined effort to hang out and one by one she won us over, and we had an enormous hit with that song ('Stop Draggin' My Heart Around')... |

I love her performances in this DVD.
Does anyone have the Runnin Down a Dream book? There is a beautiful two page picture of Stevie and Tom in it. |
