The 'Blue Lamp'

hi everyone...

I was wondering if anyone here has the blue lamp? When I was a little girl, my mothers friend had a lamp just like this but only in another color, in my childs eye, I remember it being either a light brown or mauve, and I was always attracted to it...the first thing I went to when we went to her house. years later imagine my surprise that stevie has one in blue.. and a song written about it!!! CRAZY! I would love to get my hands on one, have you ever seen them for sale anywhere?? I would take one in any color.. it really is just a beautiful lamp!

Thanks

Dee

Do an eBay search for 'slag lamp'. The type of glass used on these lamps is slag glass. There are always variations of lamps like Stevie's on ebay. Here's one that's on right now:

If you're a stickler for authenticity, ones just like Stevie's come up fairly often... in a variety of colors. The colored glass panels are replaceable/interchangeable.

I have my own slag lamp, but it's nothing like Stevie's. It doesn't look like it'd be out of place in her boudoir, though! The best part about my lamp: it was only $150 vs the real deal, which I've seen fetch $1,000-$3,000+ on ebay.

While I really wouldn't frown at paying $1000... $3000 would be out of the question... Thank you all for your replies... If I could find my Moms old friend I would buy her lamp off her :) Thank you for the suggestions, I will keep looking on Ebay

This one's not as ornate as Stevie's, but it's blue, and the same type of lamp.
