photogapher for new record.

i would love to see Stevie hire David LaChapelle to photograph her new CD and promo stuff. i think the pics he did for the Street Angel tourbook were the best i've ever seen. anyone else have an opinion?

LiamMcConville 08-28-2010 04:02 AM

neal preston, please! ;)

It's either going to be Neal Preston or Dave Stewart.

jrpjr 09-04-2010 09:20 AM

I would love to see David LaChapelle revisit Stevie. I pray she doesn't work with Herbert Worthington because I think he's a terrible photographer. I understand the sentimentality of her working with him, but it's time to move on. Neal Preston's photography is vastly superior to Worthingston's. Preston should be recognized as the definitive Stevie photographer, not Worthington.

I'm afraid I cannot comment on whether or not HW3 is any good as a photographer, but you can't argue the fact that his images of Stevie are iconic. I don't think any other photographer has been quite able to capture the essence of Stevie the way HW3 has. There is something very crude yet mannered and deliberate about his style; it's almost like a chimp banging on a piano but somehow managing to make beautiful music.

Herbert Worthington is not impossible but very unlikely, he hasn't potographed Stevie for an albumcover since 1989 (Timespace & Street Angel were done by some guy named Paul Cox)

no argument. but i think David LaCappelle brought out an uexpected side of Stevie, esp. the pic of her seated in te corner barefoot. seemed like something interesting and different, yet still essentially Stevie. new writing partner, producer , etc.... time for new pics

How about the guy that shot this one?

Anyone have a clue on who shot it? Looks like he/she is already in the house.

I think Bryan Adams might be interesting.....he's done some nice work recently.

The photos coming from Dave Stewart over the last few weeks have been beyond beautiful. With a strong vision of what he wants, I think he could work out great. I thought the photos around from SYW were uninspiring, really.

[This isn't the new photographer, but I thought it an interesting comment from an old one]

One strange fact I feel I should point out is how some people photograph so different than they actually look. I photographed Stevie Nicks a while back, and in person I couldn't even recognize her, but in the photos "Oh, that's Stevie Nicks there." It's kind of the opposite for Paramore singer Hayley Williams... when I photographed her before, and tonight as well, I get these shots that 'resemble' her, but they never seem a perfectly accurate representation. Maybe that's just me.

I just love the fact that Stevie was mentioned in the same article/blog with Hayley and Tegan and Sara. Oh how I wish she would collab with one of them!
