VH1's 100 Greatest Artists will be updated
When this was done 12 years ago, FM was put at number 22. A new one is airing September 6th, and the top twenty have been made known.
20. Marvin Gaye 19. U2 18. Pink Floyd 17. Queen 16. Madonna 15. The Beach Boys 14. Nirvana 13. The Who 12. David Bowie 11. Bob Marley 10. Stevie Wonder 9. James Brown 8. Elvis Presley 7. Prince 6. Jimi Hendrix The top five (in alphabetical order): The Beatles Bob Dylan Michael Jackson Led Zeppelin Rolling Stones |
I have a feeling they will be dropping SIGNIFIGANTLY, considering that was originally done one year after the dance. I'm thinking 40's-50's.

I hate lists like these anyway....worthless to me.

Same with movies, songs, albums, actors, etc.. |
I don't pay attention to these top lists either anymore VH1 is not like it used to be I do like the VH1 Classics prefer that station over the regular VH1. But I don't read or or care about these lists anymore it doesn't mean much to me.

*mutter* As long as the fans count them as high as they do, the nerds that make this countdowns don't have any meaning. It just kills me that people like Katy Perry and anybody who gained fame in a glorified talent show will be in these lineups one day.

So it turns out they're number 37, but it also includes Justin Timberlake as the 66th GREATEST ARTIST OF ALL TIME, so I'll agree we can use this list as toilet paper.
http://blog.vh1.com/2010-08-25/who-w...s-of-all-time/ And Mariah Carey on the list in ANY capacity, oh lord. |

HOLD UP
Mariah Carey 94...and Janet isn't on there at all?!?!?!!!!!!!! Wow, ok, people hate Mariah for whatever reason, but no Janet? That, I cannot understand at all. Justin Timberlake makes it, but Britney doesn't? Alicia Keys at 100? No Alanis, no Jewel, no Manson, and no Morrissey?:shocked::shocked: |
Anybody watching the Vh1 countdown? Fleetwood Mac should be in tonight's episode in about 35 minutes! :]
|
Well FM was #37. They showed I guess the "Rosebud" version of Go Your Own way, heard Landslide and they showed a bit of "The Chain" from The Dance. Kelly Rowland talked abit about Stevie's unique voice, and somebody else talked about the whole "soap opera" aspect of the band and of the Rumours album. That's about it... oh yea and they interviewed Sheryl Crow!
Stevie was the only member mentioned by name. They didn't really spend that much time on them. Sly and the family stone were 38 and seemed to be spotlighted more. |
