Hi,
Yeah always loved the Stevie fanzines. I have the first issue of Mirror Mirror . I thought David was supposed to send me 1 or 2 issues of that when he got rid of his collection but I didn't get them. I also have Issue 3 of Belle Fleur. I have issues 1-9 of Dreams. I have 1-13 of Rumours and Issues 1-4 of Silver Springs. Oh and 1-5 of Dreaming Fairies which I think came out of England. It's a fanzine for Stevie and Kate Bush.

Correction on Dreaming Fairies...it was a german fanzine and run by two guys

I also have the following fanzines not mentioned yet:

Welsh Witch Service / Book of Miracles
The Chain
The Hourglass
Velvet Underground

I have old issues of Affairs of the Heart and Frozen Love (both from Holland), Crystal (from Ireland), along with Dreams and Rumours both published in the U.S. And of course the fabulous Belle Fleur and Mirror, Mirror from our own Mike B. here!

Does anyone have issues of Platform? It was a fanzine done by a lady named Jean Enloe who had connections to Stevie. Just curious as I know nothing about this one.

Jean Enloe! Haven't heard that name in years!

Didn't she also leak a lot of outtakes & demos?

All I know about her is what was mentioned in the godawful 'Lady of the Stars' book. The author used her as a source for info about Stevie, andalso tried to get her to get Barbara Nicks to get Stevie to help with the book. The answer was 'no' of course.

Jean Enloe then died sometime in the early 90's.

OMFG!!!! I forgot to list Crystal among my cherished Stevie Fanzines!!!!!!!!

My good friend Aine Foley did such a labour of love with that fanzine. I'm sorry, Aine!

In 1997, I was too busy to continue with Mirror, Mirror and I was so happy that Aine (with Crystal) and Melanie (with Inspiration) were keeping the wonderful tradition of Stevie Fanzines alive with their fantasic works. I loved producing my fanzines because there was so much negativity about Stevie on the Internet back in the Mid-to-Late Nineties. My last issue was published right before Enchanted was announced, and I couldn't have been happier to maybe have helped spread some positivity during those dark days of the early (mainstream) Internet.

1997 was also the year John Kinney became official, thus ending any "unauthorized" content he had on his web-site.

Internets Killed The Stevie Fanzine.

Indeed.

So true I used to contribute material to John Kinney about various bootlegs and other grey area stuff. Once it became the official site, all of that was gone. The only stuff of mine that is still there is the radio show info. I stopped submitting radio show info though because the last handful of shows I submitted never got posted. One of these days I should start up a site with the shows I have.

Or you could just share them here... :D

I totally thought the title of this thread was "Stevie Nicks Fantasies" when I just now saw it. :p
Now THAT would be interesting...

I have all of the Rumours fanzine/some or close to all of the Dreams ones...all of Mikes MM/Belle Fleur fanzine's/all of Silver Springs too....some others but not all of them....I just don't recall the names right now.....I still love 'those' days.....it was the only way to hear about anything....now we can find out anything right now & well theres nothing to find out anything about either or so it seems....sad.....back in those days if we had this kinda info....I guess it all wouldn't be the same anymore.....the fanzines made the 'news' more special....I don't know.....just IMO anyway......:D

I have a couple of issues of Platform stashed away with all the other fanzines that have been mentioned. It was a very entertaining newsletter type of deal instead of a magazine with pictures. I guess the hey day of Platform was during the "Behind The Mask" timeframe. Jean had a very strong opinion about things and that got her in trouble with Stevie's camp a couple of times. I heard that she got to know Stevie and that Stevie asked her to stop writing the fanzine and that's why she stopped. That's what I heard at the time anyway.

Oh that would realllllllllllly get me in trouble. But this thread got me to pull out my fanzines and give then a look for the first time in a very long time. If you don't remember this time, I can not tell you how important these fanzines were to us back in the days before the internet hit big. I find it hard to believe that there was a time before I had a home computer, but there was. In the 80's and early 90's going out to the mail box and finding your new issue of "Dreams" or "Rumours" inside was a.....BIG....BIG....DEAL. Oh man, the news....any news....the tidbits...the pictures.....it was your lifeline to what was going on with Stevie. I really remember when RAL was pushed back over and over again and with every issue of "Dreams" there would be a new release date........that would come and go. That went on for a year. Then there was the pen pal section and wrting to new people and getting letters back...trading by mail. Oh yeah, it was slow and the waiting was awful but getting that letter or package was sweet and exciting. Today with the internet everything is "Right Here/Right Now" and that's great, but, it sure makes going to the mailbox alot less interesting. And, btw, whatever happened to Ann Morgan?

starshine 06-10-2010 05:33 PM

Bubba: I recall Ann Morgan (of the Rumours fanzines) she was selling off her collection what was it early 90's cause she had a medical condition & had to have surgery....I don't think she had medical insurance either. I recall thats what she told me when I called her & bought some of her collection at the time. Not sure what happend after that. I hope she's alright? Anyone know about Ann Morgan? If I'm telling the story incorrectly please let me know....this is from memory & well....it has been sometime now since than......thanks!!!! She was very nice & I did enjoy talking to her.....
