Crystal Bowersox on Idol tonight
 

Check out the bracelet she's wearing! It totally looks like that bracelet Stevie used to wear around 75-78... that one with the turquoise stone! I'm too lazy to find a picture of it right now, but I thought that was kind of neat.

I bet Crystal is a Stevie fan. I absolutely love Crystal, she reminds me a lot of Stevie. I was so disappointed she didn't win, but like a friend told me it is better that she didn't win, now she is more free to do her own thing.

I thought so too, but she doesn't list Stevie as an influence on Myspace, so idk.

I would think that Stevie would be too airy fairy for Crystal's taste. Don't get me wrong I would speculate that Crystal probably totally respects Stevie and for the most part likes her stuff, but Crystal seems like a real down to earth person with a heavy roots blues/rock vibe ala Bonnie Raitt or Melissa Etheridge...more straight forward, then say our more complicated and mercurial Stevie!! just my 2 cents.....

I think Crystals voice is nearly flawless, (albeit nothing that we haven't already heard before), but nothing compares to Stevie's distinctive husky contralto, with its whisky tinged rasp to the sweet sugar moans sliding up and down the edge of a razor blade. I have yet to come across a voice that conveys as much as Stevie's does with her limited range...She is a stylized singer unparalleled, and has a ridiculous tone to her voice that many may try to copy only to result in caricature or parody, but Stevie's voice remains unattainable and one of a kind.

The Lady and the Voice will go down in history!


BTW...I think Crystal could tear up Silver Springs

I was PRAYING when they had the producers choice for Silver Springs...I know she could have done it fantastically...:angel:
