THE WILD HEART Sound Upgrades?

The CD of The Wild Heart is mastered with such low sound! It's a crime that the tracks that are not remixed/remastered for TimeSpace and Enchanted remain with that ridiculous low sound. Yes, you can turn the volume up, but that's not solving the problem. This makes making comp CDs sound weird, or even iMixes with these low sounding songs.

I'm specifically speaking of: "Sable on Blond", "Nothing Ever Changes", "Gate and Garden" and "I Will Run To You". The sound is ridiculously low!

I bought the 1998 (?) re-release of TWH from the UK ~ same problem.

I bought that The Divine Stevie Nicks, the import "Best Of" amalgamation of tracks from The Wild Heart/Rock A Little/The Other Side of The Mirror ~ same problem with the songs from TWH.

I downloaded the songs from iTunes ~ same problem.

Of course, the same problem exists with Stevie's songs on Mirage. Low, low sound compared to ALL of the rest of Stevie on CD.

Discounting "Gypsy", which is remixed/mastered on many releases, I'm referring to "Straight Back" and "That's Alright". Still low sound on iTunes as well.

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Is there software (for Mac) to fix this sound level problem? "Straight Back" and "Sable on Blond" are two of my favourite songs, and they sound terrible on comp CDs I make for people, with that low sound.

This has been my complaint for years, the horrible low quality on the CD pressings of WH and Mirage. The only thing I've been somewhat satifised with is that when I make a mix CD, I use Real Player / Rhapsody instead of iTunes. There is an option with Rhapsody to adjust the audio levels in all of the songs in the play list / CD you are creating so that they all come out sounding pretty much the same. iTunes has a smilar feature HOWEVER, I find it to be HORRIBLE. Rhapsody's feature is much much better, don't know why but it is. So that's what I've done - use real player and rhapsody for you next CD mix (you'll have to get a premium account though).

Yes. I do the same thing. Makes the quality better for me.
