Planets of the Universe
According to wikipedia:
"Nicks chose to include only an edited version of the song on Trouble in Shangri-La, omitting a verse which she ultimately felt was 'too spiteful' towards Buckingham. The full-length 2001 version of this song, with the extra verse (as originally demo-ed on the expanded release of Rumours), did appear on a 6 track single release in late 2001." I have the TISL demo of planets, but this makes it seem as if there is an actual produced version including the verse??? Does anyone have this? |

There is. It's so much better than the album version.

I love this song so much, and I was devastated when she took that verse out for TISL. I've always loved this extended version, though..... and every single piano demo ever made of this song. Magic.

Thanks for the download link, BrokenHearted! :blob1:
Its much better.. but nothin beats the version on the Rumours re-release to me. That is one of my favorite FM tracks of all time. |
Is there anyway of getting this file in mp3 format...I have a mac and get the file and it's y favorite version of that song...Pretty please!!!:D

I only listen to the full version that's on the single. I burned a copy of TISL and of "Crystal Visions" with this version instead. I would never waste my time listening to the edited version that's on the album. The full song is so much better.

"you will remember, but I will die a slow death"
Thank the Gods they had the sense to release the full unedited mix on the maxi-CD single of "Planets". Those verses really add context that the song begs. I can understand why they might have edited it from a song length standpoint...BUT those verses are the best part of the whole damn song!! Having said that, "disappear, into the air, I wish you gone...and I don't care" is pretty harsh and possibly the most outright bitter lyric's Stevie has ever written. |
