Taylor Swift And Stevie

I doubt this will happen but for the rhiannon duet tomorrow night i think it would be very cool
to see taylor come out on stage all decked out in capes and shawls as stevie looked in the 70's.

If your gonna do a duet with your idol...why would'nt you?

ButterCookie 01-30-2010 04:38 PM

If she did this, then she would be cool.

She totally has to.

5 p.m. -- Taylor Swift

The country-pop queen with has no shortage of fans of all ages -- even Canadian-born producer and arranger David Foster shows up to catch her rehearsal. Clad in a black mini-skirt and shaking her long blond curls, the eight-time nominee opens her segment with her new single Today Was a Fairytale, which sold a record-breaking 325,000 in its first week. As that song ends, Swift says: "And then my fairytale comes true -- Stevie Nicks joins me onstage." At which point -- such is the power of Taylor these days -- the Fleetwood Mac heroine obediently emerges to duet on two songs, including Swift's You Belong to Me. If all of Swift's wishes get granted so easily, expect her to take home a slew of hardware on Sunday. Meanwhile, expect us to try to sneak into some more rehearsals on Saturday -- including performances by Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga and Elton John.

Oh poo.

The thought was good while it lasted haha

She could've been in her street clothes for rehearsal. Given that her song has the word "fairytale" in it, probably with a set designed to match that theme, I could see her in "slight" Stevie garb, but not so much to make her look like an impersonator.

Ahh, that's a really good point actually.

Will Kanye West be going? "Taylor, I love you and Ima let you finish but Stevie Nicks [insert wit here] Of all time!"

We can only hope he jumps up there with: "Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'ma let you finish, but Stevie Nicks does the best Rhiannon of ALL TIME!"

I kind of wish that he was there to interupt because it was a disaster (on Taylor's part).

Lee :)

Is Stevie really Taylor Swift's idol?

It's very fashionable for pop stars to claim that so-&-so is their idol, but it seems to me that only in very few cases is it really noticeably true -- for example, Springsteen peppers his entire career with stylistic nods to Woody Guthrie, or Bruce Hornsby ripping off one piano lick after another from Elton John. Those guys have true idols.

Taylor Swift's idol is Stevie Nicks?? Just because she says so, once, on Grammy night? Until the evidence is a lot more substantial than that, I put no stock in the cheap claim.

I'm assuming it has something to do with songwriting, and Stevie being a successful solo artist/song writer. That's what I'm going with anyway!

...who ripped off piano lick after piano lick from Leon Russell. ;) Finally Bruce went directly to the source when he produced Leon's Anything Can Happen album.

Gotta get you to listen to some Leon, there, David.

David, I was thinking the same thing myself. You call her your idol, yet I've never heard you mention her before. You also screwed up the words to one of her most well known songs. Now I love Taylor Swift's music, and I don't know if she messed up the words because she was nervous, but I don't really buy her being your idol.

[from an article about Taylor Swift]

Taylor Swift's 8 Most Iconic Grammy Moments

She made herself famous.

Justine McGrathFEB 12, 2016 4:44PM EST, Teen Vogue

Taylor Swift has 29 Grammy nominations and seven wins to her name, and is nominated for seven more in 2016. She’s literally grown up on stage and every album she releases is even more successful than the last. We can’t be surprised, though: she works incredibly hard and engages with her fans in personal ways that are nearly unheard of in the music industry. We could go on and on about our love of Tay, but instead we’ll just showcase her most epic Grammy moments of all time, in the hopes that remembering moments of the past will help her win this year:

#2

Two talented musical blonde bombshells hitting the Grammy stage to perform their best hits…what could go wrong? Unfortunately for Tay Tay, it seems her nerves got the best of her. A then 20-year-old Swift seemed to fold under the pressure of the big stage and was intensely criticized by the media in weeks to come. Can you blame her though? She was performing with the legendary Stevie Nicks! Who wouldn’t be nervous?
