Looking For A Few Downloads, Help Please

Howdy,

I've been so bogged down editing songs from the Bella Donna sessions, and I need a break and make some CDs of songs from other eras of Stevie's.

Could anyone PLEASE help me with GREAT sound quality versions of the following songs to download?

Thousand Days - Rock A Little outtake with the saxophone. My favourite RAL song, and I want GREAT quality! :]

Jimmy Come On Back - Do great sounding versions exist?

Smile At You - The 6:30 minute version from Mirage that does not fade out and back in around the 5 minute mark.

All The King's Horses - Different demo, with Stevie & the Girls, keyboards and drum machine. Not the rock demos.

Dial The Number - The Wild Heart era demo (I think), not OSOTM outtakes. I have it, but horrible quality.

Julia - From The Wild Heart. I have 19 outtakes of it from Bella Donna but am desperate for a great sounding version from TWH (recorded in Dallas! By Gordon Perry! I know because I asked him!).

No Questions Asked - Keyboard demo.

And, my Dream Wish Song....

I Call You Missing - From Street Angel. Or the Rock A Little version in spectacular quality???

ANY help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Rock a little,
Mike

Band personnel on this 1982 recording in Dallas?

Here's a 1983 Julia. Hope this is what you're looking for.

Looking forward to the rest of these.

Thanks, Nathan!

And David, I didn't ask Gordon who played the instruments. Only Stevie concerns me, not her behind-the-scenes people.

BTW, thanks again, Nathan! Exactly the version I was looking for and very nice quality!

That was the first "Julia" I ever heard in 1988 (yes, from Uncirculated Rumours). Even though I've gotten several more studio Masters of the song from Bella Donna, this version from The Wild Heart remains my favourite!

I love how Stevie sings: "I am..... freed from my slavery..."

And, of course, I prefer, "She does two things... two things..." over "She would suffer for the love...". I think "Two things" makes the song even more mysterious and beautiful.

Thanks for the upgrade!!!!!!! :woohoo:

If this ever surfaces someone will need to peel me off the floor because I will have died and gone to Stevie heaven.

The first time I heard, or ever heard " Julia " , was this recording as well. I bought 3 LP's of Stevie bootlegs in the mid 80's, in a record store in the village in NYC. This song was on one of the records. Love it.

Made another mistake! I wasn't talking about "Smile At You", but rather "If You Were My Love". It's a rare alternate version from Mirage, not the well-circulated version. It's a completely different vocal, with more piano, and towards the end, Stevie keeps repeating: "It goes on and on and on... It goes on and on and on!" Over & over!

If You Were My Love - The 6:30 minute version from Mirage that does not fade out and back in around the 5 minute mark.

Yeah when I first read that you stated a 6:30 for SAY ...I'd never heard that song that long before.....I'm not sure if I've ever heard of a If Your Were My Love @ 6:30 either?? Interesting. I wonder if its up on YouTube at all? Since alot is there?? Sounds cool ....I've loved that song too....esp the BD/Mirage versions.....cool!!

I was surprised to find I had it myself, Sue!

It's actually 6:45, and it begins with Stevie talking over the bass intro, saying how she wants more piano on the song. Suddenly, CMcV's piano is very clear as Stevie starts singing the song.

Musically, it's very similar to the famous Mirage version, except the piano is much more prevalent, rather than the keyboards.

Stevie's vocals are similar until 4:08, when she suddenly overdubs more wilder vocals, you can barely hear LB. Very different overdubs!

The song starts fading out right before 5:00 and fades back in, with mostly Stevie improvising until 6:35.

"It goes down and down and down and down...
It goes on and on and on and on!" And ends there, complete stop.

It's a great version, I just want a copy that doesn't fade out then back in.

Thats interesting...not sure if I have a version like that on my many cds? I'll have to check....Now Micheal do you know what outtakes/ guessing thats the correct word playing in the background of the famous Stevie Rolling Stone video shoot when she's having her makeup put on? Cause I could swear some of the versions/well maybe at least one is different than some of the outtakes that we have....I think its one of Stevie's songs? I don't recall the name right now though....it escapes me at the moment....? (the famouse RS shoot for the '81 mag cover photo...which most think its from a live concert put its not....I think she shot the cover like in July ? of '81 for the Sept issue?? Can anyone help me out with that?)....anyway.....thanks for the info....cool!!!

Stevie sings along to "If You Were My Love" with Max, almost like it's a music video!

A different version of "That's Alright", "Smile At You", "Only Over You" (LOVE Stevie's wails on this!!!!! "I'm out of my head!") and Todd Rundgren's "I Saw The Light".

I don't remember which one she sings along to while doing make-up.

I'm completely unfamiliar with this. The only recordings of "If You Were My Love" that I've heard with Fleetwood Mac on them all feature Chris not on piano but on CP-30.

mikebise 01-02-2010 05:46 PM

Stevie begins the song, while the bass is doing the intro, saying that she wants to hear piano on it, "to make it sparkle". And, viola! piano is suddenly playing on the song and continues throughout.

This outtake is much longer at 6:45, with many more vocals and backing vocals by Stevie, with LB almost not heard on that ending rant. Stevie has so many different overdubs.

The piano really does make the track "sparkle", as does Stevie's intense extra vocalizing!
